YaaY:goodvibes so I guess it's really official when you log into the Member Website an Aulani informational layover pops up...:cool1: and the point charts have also been added...although what I am interested in seeing are the 2010 point charts...

Has anyone read the part about:

"What is the maximum occupancy of the villas?
The increased occupancy in most One-Bedroom and Two-Bedroom Vacation Homes is due to the addition of a pull-down bunk-style bed or sleeper chair in the living room. "

A pull down bunk bed!!! Like those hidden in the ceilling on the DCL I am guess!?!? That's cool!

"Excursions
A variety of excursions are planned. Some will be exclusive to Aulani Guests and others will be mix-in excursions to anyone."
Again, it is like on the DCL, excursions by Disney, I would for sure want to go on a few of them knowing it is approved by Disney and have Disney standard.

And don't forget to check out the section about Dining, they will have Character Breakfasts and all other food options, oh boy I can easily stay there for a week or 2 just enjoying the resort offerings alone!

Has anyone else seen the fine print on the point chart page?

For all stays at Aulani, the State of Hawai`i imposes a daily transient accommodations tax based upon the number of Vacation Points required for the stay and the per Vacation Point Annual Dues for the calendar year of the stay. This tax must be paid by check‐out. The amount of the tax will vary from year to year and is subject to change.

It also says: For transient accommodations tax information, please see the “Managing Reservations” section.

It is probably right in front of my face, but I can't seem to find that section. I'm curious how much you can expect to pay each time you go.

I'm guessing they are more like the Murphy beds under the TVs at VGC.

I believe that is correct.

The phrase "bunk-style" appears to relate more to the shorter size of the bed rather than the existence of two stacked "bunk beds."

We stayed at VGC last week and I can tell you that bed is smaller than a standard twin. Our 9 year old son was fine sleeping on it but I'm not sure that it is suitable for most adults.

Awh man. Was gonna stick DH on that if we got desparate trying to book 5 people for Aulani in a 1BR rather than 2BR ;) Ok I'm only half-kidding...:rotfl:

I am so excited today about this! Half the reason we bought into DVC was for the Aulani property. We're planning to take a 10th anniversary trip there in 2012 - this makes it feel so much more real! Glad to have the points chart so we can start to ration out our points over the next 2 years to make the most of Aulani!

Currently, Hawaii's Transient Accommodations Tax is 9.25% of one-half of the daily maintenance fee. If Aulani's MF is $4.31/point (which may or may not be correct), then the TAT should be about $0.1993 per point. So if a stay costs 100 points, the tax should be about $19.93 for the entire length of stay. The good news is that Hawaii's TAT is scheduled to revert to 7.25% by 2015. The bad news is that Aulani's MF should be higher by 2015.

I've just checked out the member website, too after DH told me he'd received an email about the pricing for Aulani. The resort looks awesome and the points required aren't as bad as I was expecting. :cool1:

I just noticed today that (and it may have been there previously... :confused3) that right next to member login at the top of www.disneyvacationclub.com there is Chinese or Japanese writing next to it now.

"日本語" means Japanese.
Oh I can't wait one day the MS will have Chinese, French.... for members from Hong Kong DL, Shaghai DL, DLR Paris's DVC resorts. :rotfl:
Oh and of couse English version for toyko DVC resort webpage would be nice too!! :dance3:
