My contract closed and deed recorded on 6/15. Yesterday I recieved my DVC car magnets but nothing else from Disney yet.

Today I called member services to get my ID number and ROSS said I need to get the number from the third party where I purchased the contract. I said I was told to call MS after closing and would be given my number. He said thats not correct information.

HELP!! Just call another agnet because ROSS is bonkers?

Sometimes a CM may give you the info but officially they mail it to you in a couple of weeks.

Did you talk to Member Services, Member Accounting, or Member Administration? Nobody is supposed to give out your member number over the phone, but sometimes they’ll go above and beyond to look it up for you. In my experience, only one group has access to sufficient information to confirm your identity and release your member number.

Technically, you need to wait to receive the letter with the member number. Sometimes member administration will get the number for you but it would be a little odd for member services to do that.

Wrong info from MS. You will not have the same member number as the person who sold the contract. You will get a new one if this is your first DVC purchase.

I'd try calling Member Administration on Monday during normal business hours, if you don't want to wait for the letter to come in the mail.

Good luck.

You call member admin, not member services. They will ask you your name and address, how many points the contract was for, what the seller's name was, etc. In order to make sure it is really you calling. That is, if you even get the right person in member admin. They are not required to give you that information over the phone.

Glad to hear that there are identity security procedures in place to ensure the information is not given to the wrong person::yes::. Congrats on your membership!:welcome:

Well that was a lot of hoopla for nothing. I contacted my agent Shontell @ DVCbyresale, and she's always super helpful. She made some calls, and her contacts at DVC said I'd be getting a letter with my member number outside of the magnet packet. They are processed through different departments.

And low and behold, if not an hour later in today's mail was the letter with my member number. So ROSS is clearly not correct that I'm to get my member number from the third party reseller, but I also should have waited for the actual letter to arrive.

I did have to call to get my Club ID and activation code, those are not included with the letter.

Good to hear its taken care of. You are correct, You need the club Id number and activation code. I had to call for those as well and they were extremely helpful walking me through the process of setting my account.
