Member Services Closed Today?

I've been making my reservation day by day all last week and was down to the last three days last Thursday; I asked them when they'd be open to make sure. I was surprised that they were open Friday and closed Monday (we had it the other way), but it was good to know ahead of time. I didn't experience more than a minute on hold all week, and tomorrow I'll be all booked for my first trip home! :cheer2:

Well let me clarify my small co, comment, I did work for GE, (Retail, GECC)and it was a big deal to manipulate the days, this is going back 8-9 years ago, I handled the payroll, unless it was decided in advance, NYD holiday is technically an 2005 holiday, not a 2004, so say you got paid 10 holidays, you would receive 11 in 2004, and 9 in 2005. Unless it was decided on in advance. Is it a big deal, no, but it is an accounting and labor issue.

Pam - I see you are in Ct, what division are you in? I was in Stamford and Danbury.

I'm armed with my cordless phone, member card, and anything else I could possibly need!! If I do get through at least I'll be prepared and be off the phone as soon as I can so my fellow DVC'ers can get their reservations made too!
Counting down...good luck everyone!!

Yeah!!! I got through right away, even though it rang forever until someone picked up the phone. My first reservation is made! This feels so good that I can't imagine how excited I'll be when I'm actually on my way "home" for the first time. I may just spontaneously combust!! :earseek:

I got right through as well. We're going the week after Thanksgiving for the holiday decorations since we missed them in 2004. Guess I need to update my signature to add a counter now. ;)

I have not been able to get through on the 800 number - it's been ringing busy. I just tried using the 407 number and at least I got through - approx wait time says 6 minutes and I've been "randomly selected for a satisfaction survey".

This was the first time that I have not been selected for the survey.

I also tried to get two nights for DH's b-day, which just happens to be on Easter Sunday this year, with no luck. No, I really didn't expect there to be anything available but he just mentioned over the weekend that he'd like to go to WDW for his b-day this year (only fair since he's taking me to DL's 50th for mine ;) ) so I wait listed and then called CRO to check availability at non DVC resorts.

I felt really sorry for the cast member I spoke with when he explained that CRO just upgraded their computer system to accommodate the MYW tickets and the system still wasn't working right. He actually took all my info and said he'd have to call me back when he could get into the system. I've never had a cast member offer to do that - usually I have been told to call back later. If he follows through I will definitely take the time to write a nice note to WDW to applaud his efforts.

My DH has been trying all morning, and still can't get through! He is a banker and is quite busy since they've been closed for days so he has only been able to try a few times during coffee break, and he's had absolutely no luck!

Hopefully he'll get through soon, Tiger

I'm not annoyed at the hours MS maintains. First time I was in London I asked my colleagues why the stores were all closing so early. I didn't understand how people could shop if they only had a few hours outside of work to do so. They couldn't understand how you could spend time with friends and family if everyone was working all of the time.

Oddly enough, I now appreciate and give my business to places that close for the holidays and aren't open all hours. All it takes is some planning to work around the hours. :confused3:

I called this morning around 9:25 (after trying a few times at 9am and it was busy). I waited for about 5 minutes and then made my reservation, no problems. Then I was transferred to Accounting without a delay to discusss my dues.

I called right at 9:00. I got through, hit 3 and it rang. Then a message came on to call 407-..... I was at a pay phone because I was with my mother at a doctor appt. (I don't have long distance on my cell phone). I dialed the 800 # again, it was busy. Kept redialing (no redial button on a pay phone!), got through at 9:05 and was on hold about 3 minutes. Finished my Nov 26 to Dec 2 reservation!

I called at 9:00 a.m. sharp and got a 2 bedroom at BCV at the 7 month window. I called the 407 number, it rang about 10 times and then picked up. Yea!! My first trip with DVC booked!

I called the 407 number because I heard you get a quicker response that way. I didn't want to chance it with the 7 month window.

You called the 407 number? Why not the 1-800?

I called the 800 number like 10 times this morning and only got a busy signal. I called the 407 number (out of desperation) and it went right through. I was told the wait time was 6 minutes but it only took about 4. I don't know why it went right through. Booked the first three night of our Dec 2005 trip at BWV. Yeah!! :flower:

DH finally got through and we were able to get VWL for March Break (we didn't think there would be availability on such short notice). We are so excited!

Thanks, Tiger

MS hours are terrible! We do not live in a 9-5 world. Great idea to open later in the AM, then stay open later in the evening for members that work. Maybe they could have a 12:00 to 9:00 several days a week. I tried to call Monday too, so had to wait for Tuesday. When I called Tuesday (and had a terrible time getting through) was told they were too busy to book outside resorts, and would have to wait 48 hours for confirmation.....bummer.............

Congrats! When is your March break and what size room did you book?

Our March Break here starts Friday, March 11 - Sunday, March 20th. We are going to VWL in a studio. We thought our 1st trip "home" as DVC members wouldn't be until July (SSR), but DH decided we deserved an earlier trip as baby and I spent most of Christmas ill. We are considernig this our pre-trip to see how things go before our big 2 week trip for his 30th birthday in July. We are very excited!

Tiger

Congrats! I tried booking a studio for a couple nights starting March 27 for DH's b-day but there was nothing available. I knew it was Easter but DH didn't decide he wanted to go to WDW for his special day until over the weekend. Now you know why I have to do the DVC planning 11 months ahead of time. ;)
