Member Services and an IT Ticket

I am going to preface this post with some information. I have a Dec UY AK contract that I bought in October with 249 points banked from 2013 and 250 points coming in 2014. I had all of my reservations set and scheduled to use 250 points so I would be able to bank 249 points into 2015. I cancelled two reservations today and rebooked using 249 total points rather than the 250, so now I should have been able to bank all 250 2014 points forward. I look at the breakdown and I see that I can only bank 249 points and that one point from the current UY is being used. I called member services thinking that they will reallocate that one point that is being used from current rather than banked points. The CM told me that she sees what I'm talking about but that she can't find where the current UY point is being used in any of my reservations. She said she would have to put in an IT ticket and it should be fixed in 48-72 hours. Has anyone had to put a ticket in for this? She said she went through every reservation and couldn't find where the current point was being used and she said it looked like it returned the point to the wrong pool of points when I switched the reservations.

In the past we have had points disappear from our account, extra points added to our account and an un-authorized person added to our account as an associate.

Each time DVC said that they had never seen this occur before and each time it took several days to get our account fixed.

That's why I do not trust the DVC accounting system to keep track of our account, reservations, or points.

Now it seems worse than ever.

I have read stories on here about various things and I remember seeing the warning to always keep your own tabs on your points and what you should have. I noticed the discrepancy immediately but I was frustrated when she said that she couldn't find a current UY point in any reservation. She said it should get fixed with no problem, but we shouldn't have to be so vigilant. I wish there was some way for us to be able to see how our points are allocated to reservations on demand, not just when we make a reservation.

And clearly it's all about the CM. I called back to book the Boma Member Brunch in March and asked about the point thing again and this CM found the point immediately and reallocated it.

There is a way to do that on the member's site. If you go under Vacation Points on the My Membership menu, that page will list your vacation points by year. Under the Contract details is a link to "View Activity Statement". This shows how all of your points are allocated.

Thank you. We did see that. I was hoping to find something that shows, for each reservation, how many banked points or current points were used. Is that available to see somewhere, or just when you book?

It's listed under your contract activity statement.

My issue that I posted last week was that our activity statement had some strange posts that MS said were normal. After pursuing to a higher authority I was told that something is wrong and that they will check into it.

Still waiting.

Well, that list shows you all borrowings and bankings.. what more do you want?

On the activity statement, I do see the points banked into 2014 that were added. I also see the subtractions for each reservation made and the additions if I made a cancellation. I was hoping to see, for each reservation, how many banked points were used and how many current UY points were used for that specific reservation. It only shows a reservation total. I know it shows you that when you make and confirm the reservation, but it's not shown on the activity page, unless I'm missing something. And forgive me if I'm not making it clear what I'm hoping to see. Thanks for all of the help. :)

Thank you for clarifying what you're looking for. I think the issue you're running up against is that reservations don't differentiate between banked and current use points. That is, when you make a reservation, the system looks at your current use year's points to see if you have enough for the reservation. It doesn't technically care whether or not the point was banked into the current use year. Now, that said, YOU care because you want the banked points to be used first so that you have the option of banking any left over points in the current use year to the next use year. For that reason, the system ALWAYS uses banked points first.

I also think you won't have to worry that much about it because quite frankly, we're always borrowing, not banking.. :) The system lets you borrow only the points you need so you always know you're using all the borrowed points.
