"Member Group" call

I put this in Buying DVC because the message mentioned sales associates. I have a message from someone from WDW welcoming me home to my stay at Disneyland this weekend. It wasn't my guide. She said she wanted to invite me to a Member Group where I could learn all the latest things about DVC. She said if I preferred, I could schedule a 30 minute private meeting with a sales associate to get the same information.

I've never had a call/invite like this before. I already purchased 2 direct contracts this year (still paying on one). I can't imagine anything new, but I'm curious what this is. Has anyone attended one in Disneyland California?

I'm staying next week at VGC and got the same message. I got the call just before my last WDW stay too. Just an invite to the member update meeting. Unfortanately only the Sunday meeting works with our stay. Wish there was one midweek. There was discussion in the Grand Cal thread about the member update, the days/time, and what they give you. Assuming it is similar to the meeting set up at WDW...basically a sales presentation of all the new perks and any purchase price discounts available. Usually a free gift, like a mug, backpack, water bottle, or something similar is given.

This is very normal. Currently the free gift is the shoulder Christmas Pluto. We passed on it during our VGC staycation, but I wanted the bag at WDW so did that in October while trying out PIT

Yeah, the first thought that came to me was "Gosh, that Pixie Dust is strong stuff."

They generally aren't resort specific, they also have them at Disney Springs in the Member Lounge area. I go to one about every 10 years or so, to see if any info has changed, but I haven't purchased any points since 1996.

We just stayed and no such offer I wouldnt have went anyway. It's not worth any amount of free swag tbh. I did one at WDW only because it was a resort stay only and not a park trip, also only did it because we actually wanted to view the rooms at the resort and thats how we accomplished it.

I was so happy walking into the hotel lobby today that I probably would have bought a contract if I went to the sales meeting. Glad I didn't return their call.

I didn’t pick it up because it was a busy trip (and I already had LLs) but I do recall seeing a Pixar pier hotel flyer suggesting that you could get a LL by attending some sort of DVC meeting. I’m sorry that I don’t have more details, I should have at least taken a pic of the flyer.
