Member day parking at Riviera?

I am a fairly new DVC member and want to be sure I am following the rules. Can we park at Riviera for breakfast and ride the skyliner over to Beaches and Cream for some ice cream? We are passholders and do have a park reservation for HS but are not sure if we will visit or not depending on how bad wait times look that day.
I found this on the DVC page "Disney Vacation Club Members who wish to shop, dine or enjoy activities for the day at a Disney Resort hotel are not subject to the overnight self-parking fee. Charges for valet parking will still apply"
Would we need to move the car over to HS parking lot if we do decide to go into the park that day? I do get free parking with my AP so that is not an issue, just another step and time killer if Riviera lot is large enough and it is accepatble to stay parked there all day being DVC and an AP holder.

You're only supposed to park at the resort while you're at the resort. You need to move your car when you leave.

Being a DVC member and/or AP holder doesn't allow us to park at the resorts unless we're staying there or have an ADR there. Resort parking lots are just too small! As supersnoop says, when you've completed your breakfast at Riviera (assuming you have an ADR at Topolino's, because if you don't have an ADR, the guard may not let you into the parking lot to begin with) you're expected to move your car.

Since you have an AP, the easiest thing to do will be to park at DHS, ride the Skyliner to Riviera (involves a quick transfer at CBR), eat breakfast, and catch the Skyliner again to the IG station and walk to B&C.

Parking at a resort for a ADR is limited to 3 hours. Time for you to eat.

I will tell you that RIV is really strict with the parking rules so people do not use it for access to the Skyliner to head to parks for the boardwalk area.

As mentioned, you need an ADR for Topolinos in order to be let in. I have been behind people who were not allowed in even with a mobile order…guard shared when we asked.
