Member Cash Discount

Can someone explain the Member Cash Discount to me please.
Can they be used for weekend nights of a 7 night stay? So for example I would use points for Sunday through Thursday and then pay cash for Friday Saturday. Is that one reservation or two? Would you have to move?

Its about 25% of the full price for the room size
Yes the cash and points reservations can be linked together - Ive never had a problem with them doing so. Never had to move when using both points and cash
Ive used the cash disc for the wknds, and used points for the wkdays

The 25% member discount is not guaranteed. Sometime they offer it, sometimes they don't. But yes, if you get it, they can link a points reservation with cash nights. They don't guarantee you won't have to move, but I've never had to when I've had a linked reservation.

There are some categories that you can't get on cash - Boardwalk view, Standard view at BWV, dedicated two bedroom with two queen beds at BVC. So if you are using points for these, you'd have to pay cash for a different room and then move back if you had points again after the weekend.

For our vacation at BCV in June that is what we did. Since I knew I could rent points at $10 each I did not think that the Fri - Sat rate was a good use of my points. I do not plan to rent them, I just used the rate to get an idea of their value for comparison. The weekday rates are much better.

This is what we booked:

BCV Studio 06/17/07 - 06/22/07 using points
BCV Studio 06/22/07 - 06/24/07 using cash at a daily rate of $269.25 (does not include tax)
BCV Studio 06/24/07 - 06/29/07 using points

I made the point reservations separately then called MS and got the paid weekend and linked everything. So we don't have to change rooms. MS was very helpful.

If they did not have the weekend, I would have still paid cash but stayed at Poly or some other resort that we want to try using AP or other available discount.

So, anyone know about a WLV 2 bedroom? I'm looking at buying in and would probably go next Sept and stay at WLV. We would do Saturday night, Sun-Thurs, and Friday night.
Anyone have any info for me?

We switch from points to cash for weekends a LOT and almost all of the time, we've been able to get the member discount. To be honest, I've never quite been able to figure out when it is and isn't available but even if the discount isn't available for all of the nights you want to pay cash for, keep checking as they often do become available.
