Has anyone received the so called new member cards in the mail yet? It was supposed to have something to with Dvc shipping us all out new cards since it's the 25th anniversary

We got ours back in January shortly after they started sending them out.

OK thanks! I feel we have been missing out on a lot of things lately, including the cards, and the Disney Files magazines

The new Member Cards were included with a 25th Anniversary mailing they started sending out in early January. Some people never opened this mailing as they suspected it was just some sales pitch. There were (reportedly) issues with the mailing as some members received only 1 card when there were multiple owners on the membership.

You can request replacement cards on-line or by call member services. If you do it on-line, each member (if more than one owner) would need to logon to his/her account to order a replacement card.

Ours came in the silver 25th Anniversary mailing. I was glad that people were pointing out that the cards were in there because I think I would have otherwise missed them. It came either in January or February. It was definitely a very subtle DVC mailing the I actually almost just threw out without opening.

I've not been a member that long, but does DVC tend to spam? Surprised to hear people aren't opening the letters.

Disneyfiles for example is usually marked on the envelope so I could see people ignoring that one but the others weren't.

They don't spam but once in a while your guide may send you sales info. Those mailings are paid for by DVD marketing.

Disney files, member cards, official mailings are paid for with member dues.

Member cards are processed by an outside contractor and the mailings are in batches with a minimum requirement so there are delays.

You need to opt out using the form sent with your dues statement or Disney can share your info with outside companies.

All members were supposed to have them by April. I waited until mid April and never received my card (nor have i received disney files). Once i did contact them i received it after about 6 weeks. I also had to call for my husbands card too. For some reason certain members never receive mailings. When i called (numerous times about the disney files) they kept having me look at my profile settings - as far as i can tell everything is in place on my end to receive mailings, but i never get anything that i hear mentioned on this board (25th anniversary items, Disney files, cards )

Mine is more about the overall quantity of mail I receive. I know the things I need from DVC and the rest is "saved" for later or sometimes just filed in the round file but no, it's not much at all that comes from DVC. In this case I believe they had also emailed an announcement about the 25th Anniversary events so I didn't really think there would be any additional info in the mailing - and in that part I was correct - there wasn't more about the activities that I hadn't already been notified of. The cards however were a bit important and I never would have thought they'd market them as 25th Anniversary magic.

Funny thing about the new cards. We had no clue about them until I showed my old one for the dvc discount at Disney World last month. There was some hesitation from the cms but they gave us our discounts anyway. We requested new membership cards a month ago still waiting.

I received mine in the 25th mailing, but my DH never did, so I called on Saturday and asked for them to send his. The strange thing is, he is the primary on the contract, not sure why they never sent his.

I called our guide yesterday and got things rolling. Should have soon!

We have our cards. For others? No - the original announcement for "new cards" was made December, 2015. And the announcement was "within the next MONTH".

The "new card" debacle must rank right up there with the very WORST executed WDW Third Party vendor jokes. Folks, it's close to 9 MONTHS after they were promised. As my dear wife suggested - "Disney could have had a baby by now" :).

If you do not yet have a card? It's really time to CALL.

And Disney? You should really consider SUING that third Party Mailing Agency..... they let you down BIG time.

Not sure why DVC would care about your card....

They don't mail it until after they have your money.

Maybe the mailing agency is working within the scope of their contract with Disney. Maybe Disney/DVC is who is dropping the ball, not providing correct data files or files in a timely fashion. After all, like so many things, Disney/DVC is aware of the issues, they just choose not to fix it because it doesn't reduce their profit.

Never got a silver anniversary mailing (and have 5 contracts).......finally requested new cards through email in June.....got them all for me. None for DH. Requested his in August and the all arrived a couple of weeks ago.
We are now set. Lots of cards! :rotfl:
