When's the first one?

I learned today that you can get into Pleasure Island before 7:00pm for free on any day. I'm wondering if the block party also includes entrance fees to places like the Adventurer's club and whether kids are allowed. Seems to me you could go in the lounge and bar area for free but there was a cost for the shows. I've only been there once, but had a great time.

We're not going till October I hope they still have the block party going on! :confused3

Why is it that DVC waits until later in the summer to start these events (PI Block Party, Member Days, etc). What about those of us who vacation at WDW before July 4th?

Has anyone attended the Block Party yet? I would like to know if it was worth going.

Just wondering, don't the actual Clubs that require admission start their performances later than 7:00? I thought I remembered the Comedy Club not starting until after 7:00, but it has been a while since I have been and it may have changed.

Have they done these block parties in prior years? If so, I didn't pay much attention since we weren't travelling to WDW at that time. Just wondering what kind of special things happened before?

Here's our situation -- we'll be there in early August in a GV with another (non-member) family. If we wanted to attend the PI event, would we have to do so solo without the other family that will be vacationing with us?

I'm supposing that's the case, that non-members will not be included under any circumstances. Anyone know for sure?

thanks,
Bruce

Well, based on post no. 14 in this thread, it says Guests included.

I still want to know what all happens at these events. After going back and reading some responses, this has happened before. Is it food and drink, or events or information or what?

It does say that the block party audience will be "members and guests."

But further down, under "Bonus", it states that "All Members attending the event will gain free admission into Pleasure Island clubs that evening."

So, as I read it, you could bring non-members with you to the Block Party, but if they wanted to stay and explore PI afterwards, they'd have to pay.

From what I've heard the DVC Member Block Party will be very similiar to the DVC Merry Member Mixer held last December. Light refreshments and a chance to meet DVC reps and mingle with fellow DVC Members. We had a great time at the Merry Member Mixer and would attend the Member Block Party if it was going on while we were there. We will be attending the Bon Voyage party that DVC is throwing before the Member Cruise.
