I was told they can be spotted in Winnie the Pooh. The location must not be too obvious since I didn't notice them when I rode for the first time last fall. Can anyone tell me where to look? Thanks!

I have seen them. You have to look back. It is a room you go in after the half way point and they are up above. If you look back as you go in the room, there they are! Sorry I can't be more specific. Maybe someone else can be! :)

When you enter the room where Pooh is sticking halfway out the wall eating honey turn around and look behind you. They are mounted on the top of the back wall. It is towards the end of the ride after the really large room with Pooh in a hot air baloon.

If we were riding the ride together, I could point out exactly where they are to you and when to turn around and look up. You won't see them unless you literally turn around and look up at a very precise moment, and it is kind of an awkward position to get into while you are moving around, or if you are seated next to someone. Certain friends of mine still have not seen them because they didn't turn fast enough when I told them to, or they looked straight ahead and not up.

That said, it is difficult to describe it in words where they are. I guess the best tip I can give is that when you see Pooh stuck in the tree, with 'hunny' either dripping from his hands or on his face or both (can't recall) - at that exact moment, as soon as you see Pooh stuck in the tree with the hunny, turn immediately all the way around, look behind you and all the way up, and you will see Melvin, Buff and Max mounted on the wall, in the shadows.

As you come out of the hefalump and woozle room look up and behind you. If you are in the back seat of the car it's hard to see. But they are right up on the other side of the doorway exit from the hefalump and woozle room :)

If you're searching for Max, Buff, and Melvin, you'll want to sit in the first row of the ride vehicle.

If you sit in the back row, then the back of the beehive ride vehicle could block your view. :thumbsup2

SPOILER ALERT : The following link, from Yesterland, has a photo of Max, Buff, and Melvin that was taken inside the Winnie the Pooh ride:

This is exactly what I was going to reply.

The key to finding them is knowing they are right after the hefalump and woozle room. If you wait for landmarks in the actual room - it's too late.

Me too! Pooh was a bad decision made when the wrong people were in charge at DL! (can you say Pressler/Harriss?)

But better yet, add a real Pooh ride like Tokyo DL's Pooh's Hunny Hunt. That would be a very popular addition. That ride rocks!
