Shannon (2O Something) Never Been to WDW "Officially". Only to
MK, which doesn't really count. Way too overhwelmed with information and, in general, way too excited.
Melissa (24) Soon to be in WDWCP and obsessive Disney World Planner. Can't get enough Food in WDW, espeically form Kringla Bakery and Whispering Canyon Cafe'! (Of course, I am the "official" trip report writer!)

Day 2:
Woke up bright and early at 7am to get ready to head to Disney's Animal Kingdom. We were at the bus stop by 7:45am and the bus came shortly after. We arrived at Animal Kingdom with some time to spare. When the park opened, Shannon and I headed for Kilimanjaro Safaris. On the safaris, we were lucky to see two giraffes feeding by the side ot the road. They were eating some leaves off the the trees with their long tongues. We were also able to see the lion and lioness on top of their usual perch guarding their "kingdom."
After the Safaris, we headed to Pangani trail. We were lucky here agian, too. We saw the Gorilla's feeding. The mother and child were together as others roamed the enclosure. I have to say seeing the gorillas always amazes me. They are truly beautiful animals.
We then walked the Maharaja Jungle Trek. I like being able to see animals that are a bit unusual, like the komono dragon. We both being able to enjoy the shade while at AK. Although it tends to be hotter there, there is also much more shade than at the other parks.
We decided to ride Kali River Rapids next, since it was just after 9:30am and the ride was open. We walked right on and as we began to ride we got stuck on the lift to the rapids. We were stuck for about 7 minutes before we began our ride. Shanoon really enjoyed this one because she likes water rides. We managed to get damp on the rapids. As we approached the loading dock to get off, the CM working the ride let us ride again because there was no one in line. The second time the raft was a bit more full. We ended up drenched from head to toe. However, it was well worth it because it kept us cool.
We headed for DinoLand, U.S.A next. While in DinoLand, we decided to ride the two newer rides, TS and PW. We got a fastpass for PW and rode TS. Since our fastpass not was not due, we decided to head onto dinosaur. We walked right into the pre-show area and then onto the ride. This was one of Shannon's Favorites. She enjoyed the ride and even got scared when the Dinosaur leans towards the car and your picture is taken. After, riding dinosaur, our fastpass time was nearly up so we headed over to PW. We liked this ride, but didn't think it was anything to write home about. It was cute, though.
After this we were set with everything we wanted to see in Animal Kingdom. So, we decided to head out. We were hungry, so instead of headed to the Rainforest Cafe' in DD, we sat ate at the one in AK. We sat ourselves at the bar. I ordered a burger and Shannon ordered a pizza. The waiter was slow and not friendly. He even got my order wrong. I will not eat at the Rainforest Cafe' at AK again. I was not impressed with the lousy service!
We headed back to CSR for a midday swim. It was nice to be able to relax in the pool for a while. We had originally planned to go to DD. However, we were both itching to go to MK. So, we went there instead. We boarded the bus for MK around 4pm. When we headed into the park, Shannon and I were both all smiles. This is our favorite park. It's just Disney Magic at its Best.
We made our way through Adventureland and toward Pirates of the Caribbean, which Shannon was anxious to ride after seeing the audio-animatronices at the American Adventure. She fell in love with the ride. She was even amazed by all the detail within the ride. We made a quick stop at Splash Mountain to get a fastpass, which was sometime away. We then headed to the Haunted Mansion, another one of our favorites. There was about a 20 minute wait for the HM, which surprised me. I have never had to wait for this ride before. I was proud to say I found a hidden Mickey on the Dining room table. After this, we headed to Tom Sawyer Island where we explored the caves and watched BTMRR pass by. We then headed to Fantasyland to ride It's a Small World. Again, this ride was also busy and we had about a 7 minute wait. It wasn't bad but surprised me again, especially since it was dinner time. Tomorrowland was our next stop where we rode the TTA. This was such a nice break for our little feet. We took the train from Toontown to Frontierland to ride Splash Mountain, which Shannon remembered little of from her last trip, except for the big drop.
We had such a busy day. However, it was well worth it! Next stop...MGM Studios.
