Megan + Camp = AWESOME MOM!!

this is what she said when I got there....Mom this has been AWESOME!
so guess she had fun!

did really good at bed time, said she went to sleep pretty quick and loved her cabin friends, they had six girls all going to into 6th grade in her cabin and 3 "Big Buddies" - counselors who were all really sweet!
fun activities, each kid got a stuffed bear and hand made quilt, Jamie Moyer and his wife camp up to meet the kids and also the family of Erin who the camp was started for by the Moyer's in her memory!
they made rememberence posters, did illuminaries and we all let off balloons at the end with special messages whispered into the balloons and a nice bbq at the end.

sadly I don't think we get any photos of the weekend due to "privacy issues" at least she has the memories, but the scrapbooker in me is
when we were leaving Megan said "mom I wish this lasted longer" so I guess that says it all!

So glad she had fun! Have her journal or dictate journalling to you and she can draw a picture of her favorite activites for a page. Or maybe if she doesn't draw she could make a collage from magazine pictures. Also make sure to take a picture of her with her new bear friend and your could put the journalling on a page with that picture

I'm glad she had a awesome time!!! I do agree with Cheryl's idea...have her journal and draw/cut out photos... you could make an awesome paper bag album or small mini-book!!!

I'm so proud of her taking these steps, but also know they are the first steps of her moving away from me, which is sad for me, know its the best thing for her and would never hold her back from this freedom.

I'll post what we come up with for her photos and memories....

What that is telling you is you are teaching her right from wrong and she is using that knowledge to spread her wings. Good job, Mom!

I'm glad camp was such a great experience for her.

One thing, you may want to add a "secret" journaling box where she can write down her whispered wish that only she can see so in later years she can look back on it.
