Mega Points Discussion

We started out with 270 points (OKW in '92) and have since added on at BWV, OKW (again), and BCV for a total of 540 points. We have used points for three Disney cruises (next one this July) and plan on using them for trips to Disneyland, Hawaii, and Vegas in the next few years. I don't worry too much if we're using our points "wisely", as long as we use them and enjoy where we go.

I have 1055 points, and I've used the points to bring Myself, my Son and Family and Friends to WDW and on Disney Cruises, I still borrow most all of my points! I can't believe I'm always in the red!

But, I love having the family along for our vacations, and when you get 2 cabins on the cruise, it just sucks up those points!

We have enough points so that we can get a second bathroom (2 Bedroom) even though there are only two of us. Now that is luxury!

We have 515 points -- good for two 8-day trips plus one six day trip each year to WDW.

We may occaisionally use points at AKL or Grand Californian, but we usually pay cash or use frequent traveler points for non DVC or non Disney holidays. I suspect that you make out better renting the points and paying cash outside of the DVC system.

We have 700 points after adding on 5 times. We have used our points on cruises and WDW so far. Have been able to bring friends down to WDW for our teenage DD. Have brought other family members down several times. One family member is
disabled so WDW and the cruise was a wonderful experience. Have brought family with us on 2 cruises and also have given a 5 day stay at BCV for a honeymoon present to our nephew who had never been to WDW. We have incorporated DVC into our retirement plans for various weeks in October,November, January and February. So we feel we will have no trouble using our points in the next 39 years or if we don't use them our DD's who have grown up on Disney will have no problem in helping us use them.

I had a separate thread on this last week, but for you mega-point people be aware that with banking and borrowing you could take one trip using 4 years worth of points so long as you use 1 or 2 years' points at the end of a use year and the remainder years' points at the beginning of the use year. For the person with 1870 points that is 7480 points. That is enough to stay 9 months' straight in an OKW 1 bedroom! Wow! A few more and you could stay a whole year.

Paul:)
