Meet team Hoyt. I did.

I posted this on the encouragment/report thread but I thought it needed its own thread.

I meet Team Hoyt this weekend at the Hyannis, MA races. I ran the 10K but there was a half and a full also. I had seen this before so I knew who they were. If you don't know it's worth a look. This has to be one of the most awesome fathers around.

I introduced myself to Mr. Hoyt and it was the thrill of my weekend. Oh yeah, they beat me.

You are so lucky to have met the Hoyt's. I was able to get through the clip without a tear; however, whenever I watch the Ironman, and the Hoyt's are participants, I cry every time....tears of joy and amazement, not pity.

The two parts that get me are when he carries Rick from the boat to the bike and the crowd goes nuts and when he is cruising to the finish of the ironman and Rick looks so excited.

They are an inspiration to us all.

Our former governor, Mike Huckabee, is supposed to run with Team Hoyt in the Boston marathon. That would be an honor....for Mike Huckabee, that is.

Scott: Thanks for sharing. I saw them on Oprah, what an amazing team they are!!! My husband and I sat here this morning with tears streaming down our faces. What a fine example of the love we have for our children and that we would do anything for them.

My keyboard is all wet! What an amazing father Dick is and how blessed he is to share these races with his son.

I watch the Boston Marathon each year just to see them. I would love to meet them in person, lucky you.

From watching the video I found out Dick was only 22 when Rick was born. Imagine making that commitment at such a young age.

Both of those men are a source of inspiration to me - would I have graduated from college ifI had that many obstacles?? Would I ever finish a marathon, not to mention an Ironman - never mind pushing someone through it??

We are going to the Boston Marathon this year to cheer on a friend - can't wait to cheer for the Hoyts as well!!!

They are a special crew. I may go to Boston also. I would like to go for the woman's trials. I saw the men and to see women also would be cool. If I go for the trials, I may stay to see the Hoyts on Monday.
