Good Morning, All! I just wanted to take a quick second to introduce our new little girl!
Her name is Nikki and she's part Husky, part...who knows what. She's a very sweet little girl who just loves having her ears scratched!
We just adopted her from the Humane Society yesterday. They didn't know much about her, but she appears to be housebroken (yay!) and had no problem being crated last night. She absolutely loves people and she was great with my grandson. She even cried when he left (although we're learning that she tends to whine a little when anyone leaves!).
She's a little timd but I'm hoping it's simply due to a lot of changes in a short period of time. She just arrived in Connecticut on 11/2 after being in a pound for who knows how long and then she moved in with us yesterday.
She's not eating much right now which worries me a little bit. She's already thin and could use a few pounds. Again, it's only been a day so I'm trying not to worry too much. I know we shouldn't leave food out for her all the time (at least until we know whether she's really trained to go outside) but I want food to be available for her. The only negative I've noticed so far is that I don't like the way she cringes when she hears the word "no." I like that she understands the word, but to see her reaction is just sad.
All in all, I think she will be wonderful addition to our family and I am thrilled to have found her!

She looks to me like she could have some Shiba Inu in her (great dogs, btw).
Quiet and clean, excellent watchdog, aloof, kind of like a large dog in a little package. They look just like an Akita but are smaller.
Had to laugh because he was a twin of the dog in our family (who is white, most are reddish, like your dog). Who knows, see what you think.
aw:
