Meet Mickey and Minnie (MK) at Rope Drop

I'm helping friends plan a Disney trip, and they really want to Meet Mickey and Minnie at MK. I'm struggling with how to fit it into their plans, since it's so far out of the way of everything else. I'm thinking about suggesting they do this at rope drop, before heading into the park. Can anyone give any insight as to what kind of waits they might expect? Should they skip the welcome show and line up outside Town Square Theater instead? Any tips or suggestions would be great. Thanks!

From the times I've viewed wait times on my MDE app and looked at MK, the longest I've seen Mickey & Minnie has been 45 minutes. That's usually after 12pm. In the early mornings, I've seen it at 15-20 minutes I believe. You can do one of two things for your friends, have them FP it or just line up in front of Town Square Theater at rope drop. I don't really consider it out of the way, but that's just me. Could definitely make it their last FP of the day as they are heading out of the park to head back to their resort.

You can also watch the FoF parade from main st and do Mickey before or after. I struggle with this one so well. How easy is it to get as 4th fp+?
