Meet and Greets?

Are meet and greets becoming the answer to every closing down attraction?

I just noticed for the first time this past week that Time Keeper was closed with a Buzz Lightyear, and Incredibles Meet and Greet.

Buzz has been outside of Time Keeper for quite a while. They will probably use inside Time Keeper for the Halloween and Christmas party photos.

With that said about the Meet and Greets (I didnt notice the one at Time Keeper as I never really liked Time Keeper and normally pass it by), are they just using these temporarily until they plan a new attraction or are they planning on keeping these?

I dont mind them temporarily but I dont want to lose attractions (good or bad ones) not to be replaced by another attraction.

I think Disney uses spaces that they aren't using for attractions for multiple purposes. I don't think they close attractions for meet and greets.
