I know this is a little off topic, but can anyone give me their opinion on this dinner show? Will a 7 year old enjoy it? Thanks in advance for you help.
I personally think it's a little goofy. Your 7 year-old might like it though. The new Dixie Stampede they are building is much better I hear, but that won't be open for awhile...
We saw this show in March. If your child likes horses or anything to do with knights (jousting, fighting, etc.), he/she will like it. We (me, DH, DS 16, DS 13, DD 11) thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm not really into Medieval stuff. I don't want to overwhelm you with information, but if you have any questions or want to know more about it, feel free to ask.
Just wanted to throw in my two cents. I think Sleuth's is the best. Since you are posting this on the Universal and not Disney proper boards then I assume (forgive me if that is wrong) that you will be closer to Universal. Pirates and Sleuth's are the two closest shows to US/IOA. Arabian Knights and Medieval Times are both considerably further away and off of 192. Young children would probably find Pirates or Medieval Times to be the most entertaining of the shows (they might not get the pop culture jokes as Sleuth's). I personally did not enjoy Arabian Knights very much. I thought the show was the cheesiest and not as entertaining for the amount of money spent.
Although, Arabian Nights is my favorite, I think Medieval Times is a lot of fun. My only warning is that the sound system is pumped up to rock concert level and I found it painful after a while.
Pirates is also a lot of fun. The set is awesome.
I think the thing to remember with all the extravaganza type dinner shows is that the basic concept is "cheesy". Once you get past that and realize it ain't Shakespeare, you can have a good time.
I also like Sleuth's a lot, but that's a VERY different kind of show, more like improv comedy.
We won't have a car, so will cab fare to Medival times be outrageous? Or should we just consider Pirates as it is closer. The problem is, we will be meeting another family that is staying at the Gaylord Palms and they also would have to take a cab. Is it a lost cause?
