Hey Everyone,

Was just curious to know if they will cook a burger medium rare (still pink) at Sci Fi or is there a policy that the burger must be cooked no less than medium? The reason I ask is that many restaurants here (Colorado) will not do MR hamburgers anymore :sad1:

Trying to plan meals and this could make/break if we do sci fi or not (hubby is a rare/med rare meat lover too).

Any input is appreciated.

Not positive about this, but I would say no.....it all comes down to liability.

I managed to snaggle a medium-rare burger out of Uno's last week, but it was like pulling teeth. Very few places are willing to do it.

I can't recall the last time I was able to get a MR burger anyplace, including WDW. You can still get your steak MR, rare, or even black & blue :scared1: at WDW though.

We have never been able to get one MR. Although there are several times when I order it medium and it comes out closer to MR than medium. You might ask you server if they can do that instead.

I think they have to go by state regulations........thank God I like my meat/burgers well done :cool1:

There was a great burger joint here pre-Katrina where they ground up the beef fresh everyday. They actually tried to disuade people from ordering anything over medium. If you ordered well-done they would give you a funny look! One of the wait staff told me that anything cooked more than medium they would cut the burger in half and stick a pat of butter in the center. That way if was still juicy even though it was cooked to death.

Not sure if they are coming back, though. They were on Esplanade Ave. and they got over 8 feet in that area.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! I had a feeling it becoming a regular thing everywhere for burgers to be thoroughly cooked. Dang mad cows...maybe they should start using California cows, the cheese commercials say that cali cows are happy, that's why they make good cheese :flower:

It's not because of mad cow disease, it's because of E. coli, which ground meat is more susceptible to than unchopped meats like steak. Cooking does not kill prions.
