So I'm considering on whether we should hit Medieval Times for DH, who loves all things swords and sorcery. However, the dang tickets are expensive, even with their BOGO deals and other coupon codes I've found out there.

If we go, our ressies will be just "regular" ressies - not in their "Royalty" section or anything. Is MT worth it, given the price? Also, do I need to cover the five Dwarfs in plastic wrap before I go? The food looks awful messy and as everyone knows, there are no utensils. :scared1:

With a variety of discounted tickets, codes, and BOGO offers floating around out there, the base adult price ranges from about $44 to a high of $60 (rack rate) for the starting adult ticket and $32ish for kids tickets (under 12). There are "upgrades" that guarantee better seating, photos, backstage tours, etc., that are also available.

We have seven people (!) so when I checked ticket prices for us, it was roughly $250 with the BOGO codes I found out there. So, before I plunk down that kinda cash, I'd like to get some insight as to whether it's worth it.

I have been twice. Once with a school group and once with my DH and DD5. Both times, we had a really good time. Boys will love it, but girls like it too. Lots of cheering and good fun. Food is pretty good in my opinion. When we went, we got a free photo of our family too. Don't buy from the actual place, search for discounts on the internet.

I've been there twice, once in middle school & another time with the family when I was in High School. It was sssooo much fun both times. If you decide to go, remember you eat with your hands ;P

I would do it, but DH and I are both really into that kind of stuff. I've been to the ones in FL, OH, and Toronto, all were very fun. When we went to the one in FL it was my dad's bday and they gave him a free cake and stuff.

We took seven last year (I got a deal for $20 per ticket online) not the upgrade package, just the regular one. It was fun, the food was good, and they have a pretty neat area to browse through beforehand (only in Orlando) with all sorts of medieval costumes and torture devices, it is outside the main arena, on the grounds, good as a time filler and to keep the kids from wanting all the souveniers!

I got the tickets through a link on Travel Zoo's Top 20 (a weekly promo)
google "top 20 travel deals" or similar and you will find that site (lots of good stuff on there, changes each week).

the show is definetly worth your money. they have a "chamber" that is like a little museum of the types of torture they used back then. The food was excellent and the chicken was HUGE!!!

Awww, man! I wish I could've gotten in on this deal. I would've bought tix in a heartbeat. I guess It'll just have to keep on the lookout for a decent deal.

Thank you everyone for your opinions - I appreciate it.

I have always wanted to see that show and think I will do it this year! :cool1: Thanks for the info guys.

I Used to work there as a wench/server lol.(the one in baltimore/Dc) I would suggest seeing the show. its a good time, It is Pricey but it is a really good time. as other people noted you eat with your hands. I believe that with that price you get 2 refills of drinks. the location i worked at that did not include beer but i believe orlando's thats a option. They do have the upgrades which is normally the first 2 rows directly canter. The way they did it at ours which i believe its the same at all locations, for seating is you get your tickets then stand in line then they hand out seats in different colors so the sooner you get in line you could be pretty close so if you do go i would ask. if you have any other questions let me know!

Here's a trip report on Medieval Times from Mike Waring, husband of Mary from Mouse Savers and he always gets me laughing with his take on things. It's worth the read, IMO.:lmao:

Fun show, especially for boys (including overgrown boys). I wouldn't pay more than, say, $30, but for an adequate catered meal and a couple hours of entertainment, you can do worse.

did you check their website i know they always have deals - i just went to the one in NJ in january and got a bogo and did the celebration upgrade - it was my dds 16th b-day

We just went a few weeks ago. Paid $35 each for our tickets, though I don't know what kind of deal my friend got. I think it was totally worth it. They give you a lot of food and it's a good time :) The vegetarian meal look delicious, if I ever go again, I'm getting that instead.
$10 for them to announce that it was our friend's birthday though. And no one knows I paid, and I felt funny asking them for the money... so I was out $10

Remember when you are looking at price that it is not just about the meal, it's the show! I've been to the one in Dallas and I loved it! We are doing the Pirate Adventure Dinner show in Orlando in 2 weeks!

I actually discovered that I might have enough reward points from my debit card through our credit union in order to get a free ticket and I'm keeping an eye out for new discount codes. Hopefully, we'll be able to budget this in.

Again, thank you all VERY much - this sounds like something we want to do. :)

We actually took the kids to Medieval Times about two weeks ago and had a great time. I wrote a review/report in my trip report in my signature.
