Medieval Times- Have you ever been to one? (long)

Aimeedyan- about the no silverware thing:

When we went for DS's birthday, I had just had dental work and was on a liquids and soft foods only diet. I knew I wouldn't be able to handle the chicken, so I ordered their vegetarian meal. It was a vegetarian lasagna with steamed veggies. Pretty tasty- MUCH better than the normal meal, IMHO. And they gave me silverware!

:sunny:

I guess we are just the odd bunch. We go to the one in Kissimmee every couple of years. I love anything that is Midievel and DH and I enjoy getting into the cheering for our Knight. Our kids both enjoy it also DD (15) and DS (6)now. It might be cheesy to some, but we have been to Arabian Knights and although the horses are beautiful the story line stinks. At least Midievel Times has a decent story line.

It is rather expensive but then it is a tourist thing. The food is alright, I would have to agree that they could add a variety of beverages rather than just regular coke, beer, or water.

We enjoyed Medieval Times too even though it's been awhile since we've been. We took DS for his 9th birthday and he really loved it.

I liked the food except the dessert was too dry. I really liked the knights, they were so talented and the knights are sexy as Pop Daddy would say. (Not about knights but you know what I mean. ;) )

It is pricey though but if you think about their expenses, I suppose that it's inevitable.

Hey! We are in Maryland, not too far from Arundel Mills. :) Anyway, we've wanted to try out that Medieval Times since it opened! Even with your bad experience, I'd still like to try it out. We love just walking through the castle when we go to the mall. Our kids love it too. We love themey things like that!!

Like I said, please try it and form your own opinion :) I just wanted to share my experiences. I hope you have a great time! I love themey things too and even with the bad food It's definitely quite a unique experience :)

I think it's so cool that you are from Bel Air too. I've been on these boards for a while and have seen lots of people from Maryland, but not from Bel Air ;) I have heard of Champion Plumbing. I work at the Bel Air Athletic Club (which you mentioned the bday parties of ;) ) Now I'm trying to think for you of something scaled down...hmm.....I'll let you know what I can come up with. I've worked with a ton of children's programs in the area, you would think I could come up with something ;)

We are planning on going for my birthday this year, which is next month. We're going to take the girls too. They love the Maryland Renissance festival, so we think they'll love this place. Everytime we are at the mall, they want to go to the big castle! LOL

If your girls love princessy things then you are in for the motherload :) The gift shop has a whole princess section with tiaras, crowns, those pointed hats with the ribbons hanging on them, wands, etc... It is so cute! I was tempted to buy something and I am a 26 year old princess ;) Have a great time and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

For those of you who do go to the Medieval Times show at Arundel Mills, cheer for the blonde-haired knight. That's my friend's son! :)

I went as a chaperone for my little sister's field trip last year and it was ok, not what I was expecting. I too enjoyed the gift shop (bought a light up rose for some reason, seemed like I HAD to have one at the time). Anyway, I don't remember much about the food, but I do know that some of the other chaperones I was with snuck in their own utensils!
I didn't think the show itself was terrible, and I especially enjoyed when the knights won roses to toss to the princesses in their section princess:
I think if it's something you're thinking about, I would definitely try it once - if you don't like it, you never have to go again, but who knows, you may love it.

I've been to the one in Toronto once a while ago on a long weekend. It was OK, but I wouldn't do it again. We did it after a 6 hour drive, I think. Of course,we also did Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat the same weekend. Takes a lot of coffee with caffeine to do that much in a weekend! :earseek: WOW!!! That was a long time ago.

Wait...I do more than that on my WDW trips!!!

:jumping1:

I went to the one in Orlando area years ago and it was ok but I didn't think it was worth the price. King Henry's feast (also Orlando) was a lot more fun and worth several visits.
