Got a question for you seasoned cruisers that I haven't seen yet on the boards.

We are leaving in about two weeks, and usually, when I go on vacation, I take all my medicine for my kids in case anything comes up.

Do any of you take your medicines (i.e., cold medicine, Pepto, etc.) when you cruise or do you use the ship's?

I bring most anything my daughter will need, tylenol, nebulizer and nebulizer meds (I have brought this our last 3 trips and not used it once!), motrin, albutarol compound, and yet she didn't need any of it..I on the other hand got sick and needed robutussin and had to buy a 10.00 bottle in the gift shop!

I bring it all!! My sister laughed at my over the door hanger that was packed with all toiletries, mini sewing kit, instant stain remover packs, all meds etc.

She wasn't laughing when she and her ds was all stuffed up from the air conditioning and I had sudafed. Nor was she laughing when her dd squirted ketchup on her new white shirt that she was wearing for dinner!!!

I would rather be prepared than have to search for something.

Many things are available in the ship stores, but sometimes they are not open.

Okay, thanks girls! I am the EXACT same way, but I've never heard anyone talking about it (except for the motion sickness medicine)!

...and thanks for reminding me about the over-the-door hanger! I've got to move that to my cruise box before I forget it!

Just so you know if any of you have Diabetes and is insulin dependent and use a syringe, let DCL know that...they will provide a Syringe disposer in your stateroom. :D

They did that for my father.

We take it all.... just remember if you have any prescription meds that you have the actuall perscription container with the label on it... this includes inhalers... yes I know many people have never had a problem with just carrying the inhalers with out the pers. but DCL does require all pers. be in the original containers and have labels... I would hate to be the "one" who got cought....

We use a small square soft sided cooler type lunch box to store all our on the go meds, they fit very nicely standing up... another thing I would recomend is to ziploc all liquid meds....

We take it all too, for both the kids and ourselves. I would rather have it with me than having to pay outragous amounts on the cruise if needed.

We take 2 make up (overnight) cases with us. One full of makeup and hair stuff and the other filled with the meds. Tylenol/Ibuprofen/Naprosyn, cough and congestion meds, zantac/reglan/pepcid. And we have added the Bonine.

Two vacations ago my DBF got really sick and couldn't leave the room for a full day. We had to buy cold meds at the WDW resort gift shop. This past vacation we were prepared for just about anything: Imodium, Correctol, Tums, cold meds, Tylenol, Advil, etc. Of course, we didn't need a darn thing.
