Medication on plane?

Hello all you knowlegable folks! A coworker of mine is traveling to WDW with her DD who has an auto-injector that needs to be kept cold. Any suggestions on keeping it cold on the plane? The TSA and continental websites were no help that I could find at least. I tried the search here with no luck. Thanks so much!

Many companies that deliver these type of 'need to be cold' type of injectors, medication etc. can also supply aids to keep the stuff cool while travelling. I've seen many of them do it for free. They also are for sale.

Basically they're small bags in which you can store medication, injections etc. and keep them cold anywhere between 10-36 hours. (some will hold even longer). Size can vary (depening on what you'ld want and need) but they tend to be small enough to cary in your carry on besides all other stuff you'ld carry on. You can find these 'stay cool bags' (forgot how the official name goes.....) all over. From medical supply shops to amazon.com to Walmart etc.

If she wants an idea, google picture on words like 'medication keep cool' or 'travel medication cool', and you'll get a good idea of what the bags can look like.

And a great help for any situation. Plane, car, day of fun somewhere else; you name it. Ideal.

Also, medication and cold packs for medication are allowed through security and onto the plane.
Follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread ( it is also locked near the top of the thread list for this board ).
One of the posts in that thread is about air travel and includes information and links to the TSA site about medical needs and medication.
Basically, you separate out the medication and cold pac and tell the TSA screeners about it during the screening process.

If the company that supplies the medication doesn't supply a cold pac like the previous poster mentioned, just google Frio wallets and you will find products like that. They are used by many people with diabetes to keep their insulin cool.
Your friend will need to find out from the Pharmacist just how cool the medication needs to be.
For the resort, all WDW Moderate, Deluxe and Home Away from Home resorts have refrigerators in the room. Medication that needs to be kept cool in the parks can be stored at First Aid.

We carried medications in a small soft cooler with several cold packs. At our airport (Philadelphia) TSA questioned why we had so many cold packs. I explained we were going to land in Orlando and the medications would be in a hot car for most of the day before we checked into our hotel. They let it go. Returning, TSA at MCO only allowed us to keep one cold pack in the cooler, which was fine for our flight and immediate drive home.
