Does anyone have any experience with systemic candida? Treatments? Cures? Support groups for insanity? :confused3

I've done some reading on it and it seems it's one of those "things" that many doctors don't believe occurs in the normal population. It definitely occurs in immuno-compromised people and the symptoms are quite striking (horrible skin rashes, mouth problems, etc.).

Do you fall into that category or has someone given you this diagnosis?

No, but I do know that this is a big thing in the holistic treatment programs.

There are also places called 'wellness centers' that focus on how to stay healthy.
I have never been to one but I keep reading about them.

I have symptoms that nobody can seem to pin down. Really odd stuff too. Aside from a very visible design of white splotches on my tongue that brush off with a toothbrush (I was told this was geographic tongue and nothing could be done about it), I have monthly yeast infections, muscle pain, eye pain, chronic headaches, near constant low grade fever, symptoms of IBS, "brain-fog", my toes turn blue, etc. I've been to my doc over and over, an opthamologist, had a cat scan and a renal something or other. There's nothing wrong with me. My doc is checking into fungus tests though, for whatever that's worth. :confused3
The thing that strikes me about this is that I started feeling "bad" many years ago after my ex had surgery for cancer and was later diagnosed with thrush. I'm reading that it can be sexually transmitted. It's very confusing and I'm just tired of feeling bad all the time.

Based on everything, I would be looking at autoimmune disorders--fibromyalgia, lupus, stuff like that. Not that this couldn't be some systemic candidiasis, but the thinking is that a healthy person would not get this full-blown.

Thrush can definitely be sexually transmitted but either a healthy immune system will stop it from colonizing in the mouth or other areas, or a simple treatment would take care of it.

Also, not to get to personal, but are you *sure* that this monthly yeast infections are truly yeast. I went on for YEARS thinking that I have had the same thing. Turns out that is more along the lines of vulvodynia coupled with sensitive skin. Gives the exact same symptoms as the yeast infections (white discharge, itching, pain). Was treated for yeast for a long time. According to my doctor, if you don't have HIV or diabetes, the usual yeast treatments WILL work within a few tries. Ongoing yeast (monthly), you need to search for compromised immune function or some other disease process.

Did you change your diet?
How about exercise?
Do you floss & brush your teeth before bed? This simple thing changed my tongue, believe it.:thumbsup2
Oh, and no more mouthwash or gum.

Yeah, I brush and floss. My teeth would fall out if I wasn't obsessive about that - three or four times a day. It's not like a white coating from having dirty morning mouth, it's a pattern. It's the weirdest thing.
