I had surgery in September and ended up calling my hospital's billing department 5 times, and the 5th time I got a wonderful girl who understood me! The first 4 people kept telling me to apply for financial assistant. I explained to her that I didn't want financial assistance, that I wanted to pay my bill but I needed 24 months. She emailed her supervisor explaining not only did I have the hospital bill, but the dr's bill, the anesthesiologist bills, etc. It took about a week but she called me back and said everything was good to go.
