Meatloaf on Idol last night

There must be something wrong with DH and me because we really enjoyed it and thought they were really good together. And no, we weren't drinking. lol

LOL, Minnie - Me, neither - and I thought it was awesome!!

The "legends" are still that. Unfortunately, they don't always age gracefully!!!;)

I didn't think he sounded like the old Meatloaf at all...Maybe it was just an off night but what a night to be off. And, what the heck was with the red hankie :rolleyes2

I thought Toni Braxton was bad, too! She looked great but I couldn't hear her when she sang except when she kept yelling "WHoo!" into her microphone. All I could think is that she made Taylor sound great!
Deb :woohoo:

I thought the exact same thing! It just sounded like she was mumbling, but it really helped Taylor stand out.

He was really bad. I was so surprised. My DH thinks there must be something wrong with him like maybe he has Parkinson's disease or something. His voice was SO shakey.

It's a shame. :(

I thought Meatloaf and Kat did a great job!

Toni Braxton - I couldn't hear a word she said. I think the opposite - Taylor made her look good, not the other way around.

DH and I loved it too. While I think he started off a little shaky, as Randy would say "he worked it out." We've watched live performances of his before and that is just his style, even the scarf thing, and he's always a sweaty mess onstage. He's done great, dramatic duets with women before, Kat wasn't scared, she was playing her part. I do think she outsang him though.

I wasn't bothered by the shaking or sweating. His voice just sounded awful. If that was some guy trying out for the show, he'd have been laughed out of the room by the judges.

I was also really psyched when they announced him, and told my kids it would be awesome...seemed like he started out singing off-key, it was all downhill for him from there. My kids were rolling their eyes. I felt really sorry for him- he seemed to be a nervous wreck. It was still impressive, though. A big song, and Kat sang it like a powerhouse.

As for Toni Braxton, we also could only hear the parts when she yelled WHOO. My kids wanted to know if she was a man dressed like a woman. LOL Was her mike working properly?

It was still a great show-loved the parts with Kelli and Wolfgang Puck, and all the group numbers.

What about Prince, he looks like he is aging younger....

Meatloaf didn't sing too well last night.

Or whatever he is know by now, is still good. He even looks the same. :thumbsup2 10 years from now, who knows... :confused3

We thought the same thing! He's got to be close to 50 by now, and looks the EXACT same as he did in the 80's.

I want to know why everyone was wearing nightgowns. Toni Braxton was wearing something that looked like something I own from Vistoria's Secret. I couldn't hear anything she sang, but that's OK. She looked great and Taylor seemed to be having fun.

That last outfit Kat wore.....it looked like she was embarking on her wedding night. Strange.

Mary J just blew Elliot out of the water and he seemed thrilled to have it happen! I think that was my favorite of the entire night. He was great the whole night and I was happy to see his mother get that "award". :goodvibes

Chris and Live....it looked like an episode of The Patty Duke Show at the end when they were standing there, at the end of the stage, one foot up, looking at each other. Still, they're singers....identical singers, and you'll find....

Just watched the video (thank you google) and I thought it was great. I have seen bio's on Meatloaf and he always puts everything he has into his singing and I think that is what he was doing last night.

Your right, he looks the same as he did 10 yrs ago. I looked him up and he was born June 7th 1958

:scared: Meatloaf just plain scared me!

....and it just isn't right that Prince looked and sounded the same as he did in the 80's

:confused3 What was up with Mary J's glasses anyway?!
