i scheduled mears fir 5 people from BW to universal because i have a scooter. They quoted me 70 dollars each way and said ill need 2 taxis. Thats so much money! Is there a better way with a scooter to do this? Thanks

It would probably be less expensive if you got a Mears accessible taxi for the scooter and half your group, and then an Uber or Lyft instead of a taxi for the rest of your group.

If you're renting the scooter, you could call the company and ask if they will transport the scooter for you (for a fee), or pick up the scooter at WDW and deliver a replacement to Uni. I don't know whether they do that, but it won't hurt to ask. If they will, you might all fit into an UberXL, LyftXL, or Mears taxi van, or 2 Ubers or Lyfts (depending on how much luggage you have.)

Wait -- I thought you were transferring hotels. If you're just going for the day, you might also look into the cost of renting an ecv for the day at Uni. I don't know whether they are renting them during the pandemic.

I suggest you also post on the DISabilities board to ask if anyone has suggestions or experience.

Maybe this is a stupid idea, but could you do a one day ecv rental with pick up and drop off at a universal hotel? I was thinking hard rock hotel but i’ve only spent time there when staying there. I don’t know how easy it is to get back in the hotel if you don’t have a room key to open the gate. We walked from there to the parks, no transportation required.

if that would work you could uber/lyft from your hotel to hard rock hotel, I think (but double check that).

If picking up at a Universal hotel is an option. Then Loews Royal Pacific might be a good option. There is a pathway that goes to the front entrance of the hotel instead of having to go through the pool area, no room card required.
