Mears Towncar Service

Has anyone used Mears Towncar service? How was your experience? We are wanting to get to Beach Club and then on to Magic Kingdom as fast as possible and we thought this might be faster than Magical Express. Please share your experiences.

Whether or not you will get to your resort quicker by DME or car service is pretty much a coin flip. If there are any substantial delays at baggage claim, then DME will likely be faster. If not, the car service might beat it by 5 or 10 minutes or so.

I've been lucky -- my two DME times, froim airplane exit to resort drop-off, were 63 minutes and 56 minutes. I don't think a car service would get you to your resort much quicker than that, if you have to stop at baggage claim first.

Were you talking about having the car service wait for you while you check-in at your resort and then drive you to a park? Because you'd probably get a a park quicker doing that than taking DME and then waiting for a Disney Transport bus.

We've used DME 5 times and never had a wait of longer than 5-10 minutes. Perhaps we were just lucky. But for the price (free!!), I don't complain.

With Mears, whom we have used several times in the past, we often had waits of longer than 20 minutes and sometimes much longer than that. That, no doubt, has eased a bit since DME began. But waiting for a Mears bus or taxi was always the low point of a WDW trip - get me there already! I am very grateful for DME.

My several experiences (I apologize to those who keep hearing this!!).....
45 mins with a towncar, and only carryon luggage.
65 mins with a towncar and checked luggage.
70 mins (averaged) DME.

It all depends on what kind of experience you are looking for. If you have checked luggage, you could be adding about 25 mins to your time since you'll have to wait for the bags to come out and around....hence the 65 mins I had above. And my bags came out relatively quickly...only took about 15 mins.

A Mears towncar service will most likely provide you with good, professional service. Mears towncars have been contracted as the towncar provider for many high level area resorts, so they have a reason to keep high standards.

Most likely, you will be able to find a better deal with equal service.

And of course, as others have mentioned... it's really six of one, half dozen of the other when it comes to timing. Both will average out to be about the same.
