MEARS to the parks

Has anyone used mears shuttle to get to the parks from an offsite resort? were they reliable or did you have problems?

Mears shuttles usually are fairly reliable. Depending on what resort, time of day, the contract they have and whatnot... you might actually be taking a cab (At the resort's expense), so therefor it would be at your schedule. Othertimes, they have thier shuttle busses out there. I'm always seeing them out there, so I'd imagine they run fairly frequently.

I'm sorry... I thought you were referring to hotels that use Mears as thier courtesy transportation to the parks...

Pricing a rental vs a shuttle --- We worked through the same thing (for our trip IN 13 DAYS!!), and found that up to about 4 days, the rental was virtually the same, once you figure in tips.

We got a great Dollar rate of $22.19/day on the smallest sized car.

We have used towncar/van services in the past, but with just the two of us, it will be nice to just grab the car and go.

Even with $5 or $8 coupons for shuttles, check the various rental agencies for discounted rental rates. There are a ton of good sites that keep up with discount codes as well.

But, we use Disney transportation while onsite. You just can't beat having the bus pull almost right up to the front entrance. And (at least as of now), you can't rent a monorail!

I'm having trouble with rental car rates since I'd only need the car for thanksgiving and the day before. the prices for those two days are ourageous and none of the discount codes apply. So for a compact car, I'm looking at almost $200 for the two days. If I use a shuttle, I get $16 from airport to hotel (only for my husband)+ $10 round trip shuttle pp ($20 total- for my husband and me) for 2 days. so that's $56 total. If I could get a car for less I would, but it's doubtful over thanksgiving.
