Mears to onsite hotels

Sorry if this has been asked a million times. I've used Mears several times and I've stayed onsite, but never the two together. We're staying at RPR for a few days just prior to Christmas. I've always made reservations when I've used Mears in the past, but I read, in my hotel confirmation information, I think, that we could just walk up to the Mears desk and take the shuttle to RPR. Is there any advantage to making a reservation in this case? We're taking a mid-afternoon flight and arriving at MCO around 5:30PM.

I made a reservation when we went this summer. The only advantage in my mind was that I didn't have to wait in the line to check in. I just walked up and scanned my email at the Kiosk at the front desk and then went outside and handed my yellow card to the woman.

I'm wasn't very fond of Mears employess though and when we go back I think I will just get a private service or limo.
