Has anyone used the shuttle service? If so, how many hotels do they stop at and do you have to wait for it to fill up?

Yes, we've used it...NEVER will again. We were staying at the Caribbean and we had to wait a while to get the shuttle 'organized' in order of stops. We were crammed in the back row with some of our luggage piled on our laps and still waited while they tried to coordinate the order. Then we drove all over the place for several stops off-site (by downtown disney) then finally to our place. This was years ago and don't remember how many hours it took to get there but if you are 2 or more, the cost of a towncar is way worth it with no doubt for your own car and driver waiting for you for a direct drive.

I totally agree with DisFam95.......Mears is a horrible way to start your WDW trip. Take a towncar and relax.

I agree too...avoid the shuttle and go with a towncar!!!
When we first started visiting WDW, we didn't know any better, so we always used Mears. We thought it was normal to stop at two or three other hotels on the way to our own. Back in those days, there was another shuttle company called Transtar, and they lured us away from Mears by promising that we'd be on a van going directly to our resort. But they are long gone, so Mears has a virtual monopoly.
I'm so happy that we discovered towncars! Now we use Happy Limo and go directly to our destination. Instead of starting our vacation like cattle, we have our own private vehicle. So relaxing after the crowded experience on the airplane. I recommend towncars 100 percent. And if you have more than two people in your party, the towncar will probably be cheaper. Most people don't realize that, which I'm sure helps to keep Mears in business.
