Hello,

Can anyone tell me if they have used the Mears transport shuttles to get from WDW to Universal, Seaworld or Discovery COve, as we've always had family on holiday at the same time to catch a lift with but this time its just us non drivers and obviously we dont want the expense of a taxi or inconvenience of Lynx / I-ride.

Cheers

I used Mears last year to get from Pop Century to Universal and Sea World and never had a problem. It's a relatively affordable service that was always on time when picking us up. You can tell them when you'd like to come home or you can also just ring them from the park an hour before you want to leave.

The only annoying part of this service for me was that if you want to go to say, Universal, then you may have to go first to Sea World, then Discovery Cove and then finally Universal which can add 15-20 mins to the journey. However, for the price you pay and the small time added to the journey it really is no big deal. So I would definitely recommend Mears, it's just an easy, practical solution to get from Disney to the other attractions. Enjoy your trip!

Sounds a lot quicker than the multiple bus route, thanks for the info, just one more question, i dont suppose you can remember any of the sorts of fee's they charged.

We have used Mears in the past, although not from WDW-to the places you mentioned. But from our hotel on I-Drive to WDW-and we never had a problem with them.
If you google Mears,go onto there webpage+it lets you get an approx quote from where you want to leave from to where you want to go to.Just follow the options in the drop down boxes.x.

That PDF is brilliant, dont suppose you have the rest of the pages of it, im only able to see pages 4 - 7

that was what's on the website...
i just called mears directly at their phone number in orlando to ask them about the service..

since DD is staying at the pop century that was what i asked about..

the women at mears said that all DD has to do is call (i think she said the day before) to make a reservation - they'll come to the pop century to pick her up in the morning and take her to Universal...
she said the shuttle stops wherever people call from (they don't automatically stop anywhere - if you call them, they come by to pick you up)..

they stop at the various resorts to pick up people with reservations and then they drive over to universal ...

the service from WDW to universal is $16 round trip per person...
that's not too bad...for DD and her friend that's $32 round trip as opposed to about $80 round trip by taxi.....

i also asked about the malls - she said they don't go to the mall at millenia - you have to take a taxi there..
but they do go to the florida mall - but only on thursday and sunday...

We have used Mears Shuttle a few times; price about $16 pp return. The tend to run hourly and you need to ring a couple of hours before pickup to reserve a place. They tend to only pick up when they have a number of people to fill the van. Had one instance where they did not send enough vans for pickup from Seaworld; we got on ok but some did not.

Generally not bad re service; would use them again. Had one instance where they didn't turn up at the hotel and was advised by the bell services manager that this often happens. He phoned 2-3 times and ended up arranging a cab (mears) at Mears expense.

We used Mears this July and found them really good. I heard people saying they never turn up but we didn't have that problem, in fact one night when they were picking us up from Epcot we couldn't find where they were parked and we missed our shuttle but they arranged for a town car to pick us up, they even came and found us (we were running around totally lost!). Very good service! :thumbsup2
