I had planned on giving TTC a try, but since I had an unexpected expense just happen (work done on my car), I am now under a bit more of a budget. I never leave Disney property, so when I go solo, I never rent a car.

With tip, TTC would cost be about $108 ($90 - $8 coupon + 26 tip) round trip vs. Mears at $25 round trip. Difference of $83.

Has anyone had a good experience with them lately?

Now for the shipiing question. I purchased my breakfast (Nutragrain bars), lunch (Campbell's Soup at hand) & snacks (Slim Fast bars & Teddy Grahams). Will there be any problems with the soup? Like will the explode in the box? What is the cheapest way to ship (USPS vs. UPS)? Will the resort hold these items for my arrival? If I'm shipping from MA, how much time should I give for it to get there? Should I forgo the soup and just grab quick meals in the foodcourt or parks?

Thanks everyone for your help!!! Less than 2 weeks left till I see the WDW!!!! WHOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!

Last time I took Mears solo was 1/2000. They weren't a problem, but we had to go to the other terminal and WAIT, so don't plan on getting to your resort promptly. It was about 2 hours from the time I landed until I arrived at my hotel. The irony? No one else got on the bus-so all that waiting for nothing! Yes, I was the only passenger on a big Mears bus! Have been fortunate enough to take Town Cars the last few trips (1/2001, 1/2002, and 11/2002). However, I'm going the week after you, I think, and like you, recent financial circumstances require that I use Mears again this solo trip. So please post your experiences when you return.

My sis and I used Mears in September. The wait at the airport was about 20 minutes but our hotel was the first stop so the experience wasn't that bad. We'll be using Mears again in December.:D

We use UPS Ground for our packages.

It takes 3 days to get there (from Cleveland). Yes they will hold the package as long as it arrives only a day or two before you do.

Put your confirmation number on the box expecially if you have a common name. We do it anyway.

I would have really liked to have used a town car, but financially, I would rather save the money. I think if I was going with someone else and could split the cost, then I would use it, but for this solo trip, I'll just take Mears. My flight lands around 11:30am and my CP is not until 5pm, so I am not playing beat the clock too much. I used them on my last trip and the wait for the bus was a little long, but I also arrived the day after Thanksgiving, so it was a little busy at the airport.

I also decided against shipping the cans of soup, for a few reasons. Cost to ship (these little things get heavy when you have several) and ease. I was able to pack the Nutragrain bars & Atkins (instead of the Slim Fast & Teddy), in Ziplock bags and lay them flat in the outside pocket of my carry-on suitcase. Using this bag, I can just zip off the plane and straight to the Mears counter, rather than wait for luggage.

Thanks again!! :teeth:

Come on countdown clock! FASTER FASTER!!!!!

Hey Terk, what's happening? I'd take Mears...its inexpensive. So you put up with a little wait, look at it as a nice build up to a great finish - your vacation.

I'd love to use a towncar and get wisked away and not have to wait, but it just seems like alot of money for only one person. I'm not trying to be cheap, but I'd rather use the money for other things. I'm getting a ride to & from the airport at home, so I'm saving some $$ on parking, as well as bringing my own snacks & breakfast stuff.

Decided on a slightly larger suitcase, too. Although I have to check it, I won't have to worry about finding space for some of the little extras (like souvies). Also, I collect all the soaps & shampoos, bring them home and donate them to our local shelter. And, now that I'm staying at the Caribbean Beach for the first time, will have to get a free refill mug from there to add to my collection (have one from almost every resort we have stayed in (missing Beach Club). Last year, I had to go hunting for a box to put my souvies, soaps, etc. in and just don't want to have to worry about that.

Will let you know how it goes with Mears.

Can't believe I leave in less than 10 days!!!!!
