Mears - first and last time

Wow. I've used the paid version of Mears several times per year since DME ended and have never had a bad experience. In fact once I was the solo passenger on a full-size bus! I always stay at OKW or SSR...maybe it depends on the resort?
In my experience, it seems like they use the larger busses from the airport and make a bunch of stops, while getting picked up at deluxe resorts was in a van.

We used them in March from All Star Music. We were picked up at 3:30 (was supposed to be 3:45 but they were early). We had about 20 people total from all three All-Star resorts. We had a full bus not a van.

I thought FL law exempted shuttles and chauffeur driven vehicles from car seat laws?

That’s correct
I stand corrected 🤷‍♀️ but like, do they think the laws of physics don’t apply in a chauffeur driven 15 person van the same as any other van? It’s not magical safer bc it’s driven by someone with a special license that if mom or dad was driving! I get busses don’t have restraints made for car seats, but those vans do. So while it may be legal it doesn’t make it safe or ok, and I stand by my statement that I’d have lost my mind over that.

Exactly. The company would not be liable, but the parent would be responsible and it's still unsafe.

Last July that was our return trip to the airport and I have never booked mears again. Never will. We were first picked up so we had to crawl into the very back remote seat. We had multiple stops picking up one or two people at a time. I have used Orlando Magical Rides for all rides since. Worth every penny
Would you recommend Orlando Magical Rides over an Uber?

Personally yes I would. If you are just going for cost then take an Uber. We have had a couple of sketchy Ubers or Lyfts in the past and decided to use OMR after seeing many posts about them in the ears for each other group. The owners respond quickly to changing situations and treat us like queens. They just take such good care of us. Do we need that? No but it starts the trip off right. Being whisked away in a luxury SUV that is often themed (we had a yoda car twice now) and spotlessly clean from the VIP tunnel is the way to go. To us it is worth it and all of our drivers have been so nice. They handle luggage and assist my old self up into the car. They arrive early for return trip and will wait until your requested return time but we usually are ready to go back when they arrive. They are always so nice and have top notch customer service. Worth every penny for them. It is $125 for a suv one way plus tip. They have vans and even a bus for very large groups. Most of their employees have worked at Disney at one point. We have met a number of them. Hope to meet more in our next trip. Somehow it feels a little like they are family.

Have had mostly positive experiences with Mears. Anybody have 'Rueben' as a driver? - he tried to keep everybody entertained with a nonstop 'standup routine' that became annoying after awhile.

Questioning the logic of politicians is more of a waste of time than writing a complaint letter to Disney that their prices are too high
