I have a handful of guests that I need to get from our resort to the Wedding Pavilion the morning of our wedding. The best suggestion I have thus far is a one-way 11 passenger van from Disney for around $155.

Has anyone else contracted directly through Mears or found other alternatives to get their guests to the Pavilion?

Thanks!

Lisa

I used Mears one way from Pop Century to the Boardwalk before the ceremony, and it went very well.

I used Mears that night after dinner to transport us from the Contemporary to the Dessert Party and it was a DISASTER. Only 2 out of 3 vans showed up and instead of just calling for another van or calling Karen, they decided to argue with me for 10 minutes about whose fault it was. Because I cared at that point...

I wish I had sprung the money to just rent the limo out for longer to be honest. Or even taken Disney transportation.

We also used Mears to get to Universal. We rented two vans and ours was fine but the driver of my Mom's texted the WHOLE way. It's illegal where we're from, and she wasn't impressed about it.

But, I will say...we used a one way 8 passenger van and it was only $25.00 each van, so I'm not sure where the $155.00 comes from? I think we got what we paid for though. Ugh.

Thanks for the info. We've also thought about renting a minivan from Enterprise on my fiance's corporate discount and letting the in-laws drive it for the day. Slightly cheaper, but then we have to deal with the rental pick up/drop off, etc.

sorry to hijack but I also need help with transportation. These are the options that my planner sent back:

Limousine (8 passengers) - $165.85
Van (11 passengers) - $162.75
Town Car (4 passengers) - $25.00

Not sure why the prices are what they are. Why wouldn't I just get 4 town cars to transport 12 people for $100?? Basically all the guests are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. Would it be too difficult logistically to have the multiple town cars??

Thanks!

I was originally thinking about the towncars, but here is what my planner told me:

"I have had bad experiences in the past with the one-way town cars, so I usually don’t recommend them. If the guest are not standing outside waiting for the car and the exact time we book it, then the town car pulls away. They seem to be unreliable, in my experience."

I really like my planner and trust her, so I was steering clear. Even if dealing with Mears directly is cheaper I might suck it up and use Disney - at least I would have some weight to pull if something went wrong (seeing at I just shelled out $XXXXX for the wedding Disney should get the transportation correct). I know that's just a theory though
