Has anyone taken the Mears shuttle from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Universal Studios? I was all set to book a reservation with them for $19 one-way but having second thoughts after reading all the negative/horrible reviews on yelp.com and other sites.
The other options are to take a taxi at what could be as high as $60 or an hour plus bus ride on Lynx routes 42 and 37 for $2. It sounds like the problem with the Mears shuttle is they won't leave the airport until all the seats are filled resulting in up to an hour wait at the airport. Time-wise the shuttle could be the same as taking the Lynx bus.
This is my first visit to Orlando and will be arriving at MCO in the morning and meeting a friend at Universal around dinner time. My friend suggested getting dropped off at the Hard Rock Hotel and getting into the park that way. We're staying at an off-site hotel and will not be visiting WDW (doing that on another trip in the fall). My friend will already have a rental car so there's no need for me to get one.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
