Good Morning everyone!

ACK! Stop me... I'm outta controllllll!!!!!!!!!

Here's the story. PetSmart was having a "carnival" for dogs last night from 6-8 pm.

We decided to take Reilly and Hailey - Reilly has been to one of their parties before and likes it so we figured Hailey would too. We didn't get there at 6 because we had to visit mom in the rehab place first. When we got there they had already started the games.
There was a talent competition - Reilly doesn't know any "tricks" but then I thought of something he does all the time that I'm just used to as being "Reilly". The dog is just as comfortable walking on 2 paws as 4. I stuck a cookie in my hand and up he went and walked on his hind legs the length of the floor and turned and came back - like it was second nature to him. He won! He won a bag a misc treats which I let him get "treat faced" with later (surprisingly he only ate about 5 of them before he had enough)

Anyhow - we left to go shop around and then it happened. I went to the bird area. There were these 4 little female cockatiels. 2 greys and 3 pieds. One of the pieds was bright white and dark grey - very striking. I conned Matt into finding someone to ask about her - told him I still had some birthday money left and did the whole puppydog eyes pouting thing. As we were waiting for her to come over I noticed the other pied (yellow and grey) was running over and following our dogs at the window. I bent down at the corner of the window and she came running over to me and put her head down where my finger was as if to say "scratch my head". Matt said "OHH no" I said "OHH yes"

The lady let me inside the little "Birdy booth and opened the cockatiel cage and the little yellow and grey pied came running over and hopped up on her hand, then hopped over on mine.

The rest is history.

I need a name for a yellow and grey pied female cockatiel. ;)

That makes my "ark" right now 11 parakeets, 3 cockatiels (2 nice and one grumpy that prefers to hang out with the parakeets) and 5 dogs. I'm not crazy, am I? (Careful how you answer that - I have the tag fairies cell phone number)

Anyway today's question (and no it's not am I crazy - or should it be?)

we did your favorite subject in school yesterday so now..

"What was your LEAST favorite subject in grade/high school?"

Algebra. I had a lousy Algebra I teacher.

How about naming your new baby the Piper (as in Pied Piper)?:teeth:

that story was hilarious--my first official laugh of the day!!!

I didn't like History--I think I would like it now, but when I was in school--it was always--"read the chapter and answer the questions in the back"

History - always taught by VERY dull teachers.

I like Browneyes' idea of Piper!

I don't think you're crazy! If the animals bring joy to your life and if you have the time and energy to take good care of them, I say go for it!! :p

Ugh, math, definetly math. Unfortunately my poor daughter has inherited my lack of math skills. Thank God for tutors!

I really was not good at math, and did not like it at all because of that. I took what I needed to graduate and that was it. History and English on the other hand, I had enough credits that I could have graduated twice with them.

well, I'm still in those years, and it is definatly science. Hate it, hate it HATE IT! And I have been having sooo much work...trying to fit it all in before the end of the year, I suppose  I say we skip science and have a party :smooth: .

I love math but some things...why do I need them?! That's my question. Who is gunna ask me to dilate a triangle to three points?? Hmmm NO ONE! ::yes::

PE
Gym
Physical Education

However you say it...YUK YUK YUK :crazy2: Of course, you'd always be scheduled to have PE in the begining of the day - so you would smell & have bad hair all day :( Yes, we did have showers, but you didn't have time for them after the coaches were done with you. To add insult to injury, the PE coaches were also our English teachers...GGGGRRRR!

Art! I disliked art so much (because I have no artistic talent whatsoever) that I never even took one art class. ;)

Piper sounds great! Are you sure you shouldn't be working in an animal shelter somewhere, Lauri?

Math, with Science and French a close second and third.

Great poll.....I put my big YUCK in for Sciences!!! I avoided any and all classes, and math was a close second. I'm more of an English Lit person, hence the reason why I'm majoring in it ;)

Well I love math, and English is pretty much the opposite of math, so that would be my worst. I've always been good with numbers, but not with words. On my SAT's I scored at least 200 points higher in math than in English. When I was younger, I spent more time doing math puzzles and logic problems than reading. That can explain why I'm so good in math, but so bad with vocabulary and grammar.

Gym! I was always the smallest one in the class. :( Hated it. Never could compete.

maths - however I teach 7 year olds now and maths is my favourite subject to teach. I guess I can relate to the kids who find it hard and find I can explain things better as I had difficulty with them.

I HATED Geometry. Hated it. The only D I got in high school. I really enjoy arithmetic and problem solving, but those stupid theorums or whatever they were called...I was clueless. :confused2

English! Why did I need a class to teach me my native language???

Acually it probably would have been home-ec or something but I never took it. I always took Foriegn Language or math classes w/ my elctives.

Short of the basic four: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division....I am horrible at MATH. I hated it so much!!!

I had a class on probabilities....Now, what the heck is a probability? The only probablity in Math that I know is that there is a HUGE probability that I will fail!!
