Good morning.. err. OKay, good afternoon. Okay so I slept in and I'm running late!

Today I thought we would touch on that age old argument - one that has troubled man since the beginning of time.. well, maybe since the beginning of the credit card.

Discount shopping and the big 3 discount department stores.

From the threads I have seen on the DIS, some people are fiercly loyal to their favorite discount department store, whether it be WalMart, Target or KMart.

So today's question is - if you could only shop at ONE discount department store - which on would you pick? (and nope, can't have two )

hey I am not proud. I love walmart in our area and they do alot of good things for our town......helping others during the holidays .......we have had several devastating fires ...Walmart helped....so Yes we give back to the community and Walmart is the community too

I said Walmart I am torn with the anti trust issues I do believe they have because they are so close to my house, I still go there !

No Walmart for me, I am a Target fan. Well I admit I do get a few things at Walmart, but I try to not shop there. I go about 3 times a year.

I couldn't live without my Target though. I am bad, so I try not to go too often.

Well first of all, I have never even seen a Target! They are building one in our town, not sure of the opening date... So I am going to pick Wal-Mart! I also do alot at Wal-Mart.com You would be surprised at the stuff you can get from Wal-Mart.com! I get my Passport from their every year, so much cheaper!

I keep hearing people talk about this store! I've never been to one. I wonder if there are any in VA?

If we had a Super Target anywhere close by I'd shop there. But since the closest one is in Chesapeake i gotta get groceries at Walfart. All other things being equal though, I'd rather go to Target. Cleaner, more spacious and the employees seem much happier. If it's a good place to work it's a good place to shop in my book.

I LOVE Target. Walmart comes in second even though Kmart is the closest to my house (I pass it every day several times a day) and I have a friend that works there (in fact, a lot of the band works there. It is pretty evenly split between Giant Eagle, Kuhn's, and Kmart. LOL.)

Definitely Target - the Wal-mart in our area is not kept neat and clean at all. So many customers leave things everywhere. I would rather shop where I feel I can find anything and everything - and have found the personnel at our local Target very accomodating.

None of the top 3 listed here for me. Maybe it's the kind of things I purchase but I find better bargains at other stores by watching for their sales.

Voted for Target. Just went there today.

The Walmart around me is very small, they don't carry everything I need. They are getting ready to build a Super Walmart in the same town. Will have to see how the prices are after it is built.

I love walmart. I'm there 4 out of 7 days of the week. typically 5-6 out of 7 days.
