I am going to WDW with my dd, ds, and a friend and her 2 kids. I want to get the ddp (have gotten it for my past 4 trips) but she can't (she booked from an outside source, against my better judgement). We are going to eat together, so we will be a party of 6. If it is split up with 3 on ddp and 3 not on ddp, will they include the tip? I always leave 18-20% but really would rather our tickets not be together.
Also, if I do not get the ddp, I still will get separate checks. Its just easier because I will just charge everything to my cc.

My understanding is that if the number of people at the table exceed 6, the tip is added. I would think in the case of one party being on the plan and one off that both checks would include the 18% but I am sure someone will clarify.

We will have the same situation in August. We have the deluxe plan but my sister and her family will be joining us for a few meals and they will be paying out of pocket.

they will split the checks any which way you want (whether or not any people are on the dining plan), but 6 people at the table= all checks automatically have the 18% tip added. A party of 6 is a party of 6 regardless of how many separate checks are handed out at the table. :thumbsup2

There's a sticky at the top of the dining forum that explains everything about the tipping.

Thanks, that's what I figured. We are not used to people joining us, so I wasn't sure. I don't mind that they add it, I usually leave 18% normally.
