Besides sandwiches from EOS, what meals can you get that can be saved, refrigerated and reheated? Yyes, yes, pretty much anything but what's convenient? I'm not talking about reheated fries .

We have a DVC split stay and I'm seriously thinking about going Deluxe for the first week and doing several 2TS meals/shows. But I'm realizing we will most likely have extra meals left over at the end (plus a lot of snacks). We are staying our 2nd week at OKW and may forgo any DDP that week and pay OOP. This will be our less scheduled week depending on what parks we want to do again, so less ADRs. So my brilliant mind was thinking of using those extra meal credits and snacks and get a few meals that we can save for that 2nd week.

What do you think? And what would you get?

What at WGPE reheats well? I figure we'll hit DTD before our credits expire the day we move and get EOS and some other stuff.

I think your best bet is to get a bunch of snacks on your last day. Fresh fruit, bakery items, yogurts, packaged snacks, etc.

WGPE does offer pasta dishes..which were very yummy... but, I am not so sure that they will be as good reheated the next day.

Boardwalk bakery has great sandwiches as well. WPE spaghetti reheats great in the DVC units. Order salads with dressing on the side and they will last a day or two in the fridge.

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't think about asking for dressing on the side.

We've never had meals left to use that way, but there are a ton of pastries available to use up snack credits that would save well for breakfasts for the non-DDP part of your stay.

I would get a couple of the fantastic pizzas at WPE... they should reheat well...but even if they don't, you could still eat them cold. :)

We always pack quart & gallon size baggies for refrigerating & transporting our leftover DDP food. Also good to prevent drawing bugs when food is not refrigerated. We also pack a gallon baggie of paper plates & plastic ware.

When ordering your food, be sure to advise "To Go".

Here's what we've done with our leftover QS & Snack credits to take to a non-DDP ressie & to take home -

Studios Starring Rolls - love, love, love those stacked ham sandwiches & red velvet cupcakes; get bag of chips & drink also of course.

POR - Hubby loves the muffalettas; can easily split one for 2 people; includes onsite made chips that we put in a baggie.

POR - made to order pasta

Coronado Springs - made to order pasta

AK Yak & Yeti (snack!) - chicken fried rice & it is good size even only takes a Snack credit

POFQ - Bar-B-Q pork sandwich (huge! enough for 2) w/gumbo instead of dessert; get gumbo w/o rice & get much more gumbo; then use some of the rice from AK Y&Y.

POFQ (snack) - gumbo

Snack favorites - Starring Rolls cupcakes; POR Magic Cookie Bar - got 11 of them on our last day!

We also have lots of leftover desserts from our TS dinners.

In addition to all of our other bounty, the day before driving home, we ate our last TS at ESPN & we each got the full slab of ribs. It looked like 2 full size slab of ribs on each plate - we've never seen so much served! And, we were so full from all of the DDP food that we only ate the slaw & picked at the fries. So, we had all of those ribs packed up to go.

To get all of our "stash" home, we went to Publix & bought two $5 foam coolers. The morning of departure, we got ice from CB ice machine, & packed the ribs & all of the other food (placed all food in baggies to save space). At home we ate for days on our DDP food. We still have half of the rib meat in the freezer!

Once we had a 3 day off property stay between our 2 Free DDP stays. During those 3 days, we did not buy any food - ate only leftover DDP food. We had so much that we left plenty for the housekeeper in our room fridge!

Enjoy your DDP "leftovers"!

Did you know DVC owners can now book dining daily or not. No changing rooms required. We are doing the deluxe plan for a couple of day and then not for a couple and so on. This might workout better for you. You can change it during the middle of your stay even to a differnet plan. WE are doing Deluxe and then Quick Service.

We've had one extra separately booked day and got salads or sandwiches to save in the fridge. Salads only good for a day with dressing on the side, but if you get sandwiches ask them not to put the condiments on the bread and get separate packets for that. Mayo, mustard, etc. can make the bread pretty soggy overnight!

Be careful about ordering with WPE. They usually are pretty strict about the dining plan and won't give you more meals than number of people on your card so if you want more than that you may need to order more than once.

Our favorite is the terrific aloha pork sandwich at Capn' Cooks at the poly. They come in a cardboard box, and stayed fresh several days in the fridge, we ate a couple on the long drive home and they were as good as fresh!

Oooh! Thanks for the tip. We'll be at BCV the first week so we can do this the day we move.

We aren't DVC owners. We got DVC through an RCI trade where I can only book a week at a time. I was lucky enough (major Pixie Dust) to get 2 consecutive weeks in 2BRs. The first is at BCV (super major pixie dust) and the 2nd at OKW. I don't think MS will let us split our week up for dining purposes, but will ask.
