what is the food and beverage tax in WDW? Ive looked online and only saw info from 2006 so i'm not sure if it has gone up.

also is the meal tax included in the ddp? i didnt think it was but i read a post somewhere on here where someone said the tax is included in the ddp price but i've also read people report that tax as well as tip are not included in ddp. i know the only time gratuity is added is when you have a larger group.

yes tax is included when you get the dining plans but not the tip except for room service and CRT where everything is included.

I saw an old recipt a few weeks ago for 1900 PF from last October and the tax was 6.5%

Actually, it is kind of funny, but WDW is located in two taxing entities - Orange and Osceola counties. As far as buying goodies, you will get taxed differently depending on what park you are traveling to that day!

I also think LBV is another separate entity as well! Crazy! Three different taxes! Check your receipts sometime!

I haven't been there in two years - Osceola is 7%, Orange is 6.5%, and I don't know if LBV is different or not. I always remembered that certain parks were "cheaper" b.c of the taxes. Craziness

Orange County is where most of WDW is located. The tax % on food and beverage here is 6.5%. All 4 parks, 2 water parks, DtD, DQ, and most other properties are within this bracket.

Osceola County is where the All-Stars and WWoS are located. Due to an additional 0.5% base tax (technically Orange has a 0.5 and Osc has a 1.0 for some sort of additional county tax), the food & beverage here is 7.0% (sales too I believe). This is also why most of the lodging (e.g. transient housing) tax is 12.5% on property, but again the All-Stars are slighly higher at 13%.

Cheshire Figment has posted a few times about the ins and outs of state and local tax on WDW property and I'm sure with some searching you can find all the details (assuming he doesn't post it here first, I'm sure it's saved on a notepad somewhere :p)

The basic Sales Tax rate in Florida is 6.0% and is on most goods and services. The counties have an option, by vote of their residents, to add a surtax of 0.25%, 0.5%, 1.0% or 1.5% to the state rate.

Orange County, which is most of WDW, has a surtax of 0.5% so purchases (including meals) are taxed at 6.5%.

Osceola County, which has the All-Stars Resorts and Wide World of Sports in it, has a 1.0% surtax so purchases at those locations are subject to a 7.0% tax.

In addition, counties are allowed to have a tax on transient lodging. In both Orange and Osceola Counties it is 6.0%, so all lodging except the All Stars is 12.5% while the All Stars, in Osceola County, is 13.0%.
