I am trying to figure out where to eat for christmas and new years too! I have young kids so I cannot do anything too fancy but I want to make christmas and new years meals really special. I have looked on allears.net but they say holiday buffets for some meals and I am not sure what is offered. Does anyone have any pics from their holiday meals?

Initially, we had booked LTT for our Christmas Eve dinner this past year. As the date approached, dh and I really began to question our decision. The meal sounded great at Thanksgiving, when we made our ressie. As December approached, plain turkey sounded less and less appealing. However, we wanted something fun for the kids. Once we were at WDW, we realized that the kids were having plenty of fun without the addition of another character meal. Thus, at the last moment, we switched our ressie to one of our favorite restaurants...Kona. The menu was pretty much the same as usual, but the food was excellent. Next year, we're going to try to make either an early, early ressie at CG or a later ressie at 1900.

Christmas morning, we had brunch at CM. We were surprised upon arrival to find that they were taking walk-ups. Many, many people had made ressies and then not kept them!!! I wish we had not. The kids had fun, but the food was just so-so. Many dishes obviously had been sitting out for quite a while and were NOT replaced during our hour or so at this establishment. Next year, I'm going to book CP for an early breakfast. This year, we weren't sure how early the kids would want to leave their gifts or if we would even venture into the MK. Well, they wanted to hit MK early...and the crowds were just STARTING to arrive when we departed for CM around 10:45.

Our Christmas dinner was fantastic, and we definitely will do it again next year. We had a fairly late seating at Whispering Canyon. With the exception of the salmon (which doesn't excite me under the best of circumstances), the special meal was excellent! All of the families present obviously were having a blast. Many were not from the resorts but were from the Orlando area -- this really says something about this meal!

Hope this helps.
