What are some meals that you have shared between two people because of their size? He eats like a bear and I eat like a bird...so we even things out with one meal a lot of times lol:laughing:

If he eats like a bear, even though you eat like a bird, I feel there will be very few places you can share. I do not find the Disney portions that large.
Two exceptions; the chicken and rib meal at Cosmic Ray's and the Fried Chicken at 50's Prime Time Cafe.
Good Luck

My wife and I are kind of that same way. And Disney has BIG sized portions. But we only split meals back at the resort versus table meals. We will occassionally split a quick service too. Soem times we're just trying to eat and move on to the next magical moment.

I wanted to second both of these! also at Prime Time they have a sampler plate with fried chicken, pot roast and meatloaf. It was a ridiculous amount of food! I also thought Flametree BBQ had large portions if you got the ribs or chicken.

While you may not be able to 100% share everywhere, here are a few tips:
1. At CS places, you can get the main item without the side if you wanted. So, you could get two sandwiches or burgers and share 1 order of fries.
2. Some CS places (Columbia Harbour House comes to mind) have something like soup or a side salad, so you could get a combo meal and a cup of soup and share.

I think sharing at WDW's restaurants is a fantastic idea! It'll save you money and hopefully some calories too. (But in Disney, they don't count, right? ;))

Whenever I visit, my sister and I usually go together. We're adults in our 20s and we always share an entree at CS and TS meals. The only place we make an exception for this is lunch at Kona. I think a good rule of thumb would be if a TS entree is under $15, you might want to get your own, but if it's a steak/fish/large protein item at dinner, you can absolutely share. We shared a steak dish at dinner at Chefs and I think we could've fed the kids at the table next to us with what we couldn't finish!

And this way, you don't walk out of a restaurant feeling like you've overeaten.

I personally dont think the NY strip can be shared. with the strip i had, half of it was fat. I was not impressed, and there's no way it could feel someone else IMHO.

50's fried chicken dish gives you FOUR large pieces of chicken! That can feed two just fine!!!!!! massive portions at that place! Flame tree is another good place to share.

I heard that at Cosmic Rays, they got rid of the chicken/rib combo platter.

Where to start... Let's see...

Ok, first of all, Liberty Tree Tavern in MK has a Pilgrim's Feast at lunch - like a complete Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and stuffing... massive portion! This meal is only about $15 but an easily shared meal. In fact, one time my mom and I both ordered it, thinking we were particularly hungry that day. Nope! Neither one of us could finish it all! We vowed to never order our own again - we will always share this one in the future.

Any time that you can get a half chicken meal or a chicken and ribs combo - CS locations like Cosmic Ray's in MK and Flame Tree BBQ in AK - also easily sharable.

At Les Chefs de France in Epcot, I found the half chicken meal absolutely massive. It was so juicy and tasty that I actually did eat nearly the whole thing for a late lunch one day, but I kinda couldn't fit anything else in me for much of the rest of the day! They also serve baguettes and real butter with all their meals, so if for some reason the meal doesn't fill you guys up, a fresh french baguette with real butter can be a nice way to fill your tummies and satisfy your taste buds.

I've never actually eaten there, but at Via Napoli in Epcot, there are some massive pizzas that people often share. You could have a slice or two and hungry hubby can have the rest.

I also like the idea of having hubby order a meal of his choosing and ordering something like a soup, salad, or appetizer as my entree. Then I can have some of his meal without feeling like I'm taking too much from him, and he can certainly try some bites off what I have too.

DEFINITELY make an ADR for Via Napoli. DF and I share meals whenever possible and the smallest pizza (individual) is massive. And delicious! Very easy to share and quite a good value (for Disney).

Ours were fine. Perhaps that was the lunch portion?

The main thing there is that if you really want to dine at Le Cellier but need to cut some corners, they will split the entrees up and you can share sides as well.

Actually your right, I did go for lunch. Thats why it wasnt massive. lol. That place is so over rated. Never again.

My DH & I share a lot of meals at Disney so we can indulge in a dessert a little later and not be miserable - neither of us are big eaters (until we hit the crab legs at Cape May - then get out of our way:lmao:) We really DO have plenty when we share the ribs & chicken platter at Rainforest Cafe. We don't tend to share the half-rack ribs at Flame Tree though, we both love them too much;) There are lots of others we can share easily though because we both like to save room for a new snack in one of the parks in between pixiedust:

We actually think portions at WDW are quite large. My DH & I share a lot, but he probably doesn't eat as much as some men. It really depends on how much your DH needs to feel satisfied. We shared a sandwich & fries twice last weekend. Once at ABC Commissary, because we were desperate to get out of the cold. That was so bad we didn't come close to finishing the meal between us. It's a good place to go, if you want to lose weight though. We also shared a pulled pork sandwich with onion rings from Flame Tree BBQ. It was very good, but we still had a few onion rings left over. We also share at TS restaurants, but that's mostly due to us enjoying trying several dishes. Admittedly, we waste a lot of food at TS locations. We don't like CS enough to order more than one meal to share. Under most circumstances we could share one entree at most table service restaurants & be full, if we chose to. You can always get dessert or a snack later.

We're not TS people, especially at WDW....we do enjoy their counter service from just about everywhere and spit most...we split breakfast, hamburgers platters, everything.....portions are huge and we're not gorgers....enought to sustain to be able to enjoy a snack at anytime.....one of the reasons the dining plans don't interest us..

We also found thru our many trips to WDW, that we don't require 3 meals a day at certain meal times.....breakfasts are important to us....lunch is uaually a sandwich made with in route grocery stop fixings and dinner could be anything from any counter service......not foodies at all and personally, we've found the quality of TS meals to have gone so far down hill we are no longer interested in doing the so called signature places.....
