Meal Vouchers?

Hi All,

Please forgive all the questions, but I am so no up to speed on Disney. Five years ago when we took the kids, I remember reading here on the forum about meal vouchers. I know I bought some (although I have no memory of where or how I bought them), and used them at Beaches and Cream and also at CRT for breakfast. I am debated to if I should do the Disney Dining Plan (it is not free during our trip next year) so I was wondering do they still have them? If so, where do you buy them? How much are they? Does anyone know what I am talking about...sorry, I wish I could remember more

I know what you are talking about. When I worked in media and was a visiting guest of Disney's doing radio broadcasts they use to give them to us for get meals with -- this would have been back in the late 90s through 2004 or so.

I haven't heard about or seen them in years. I don't think you can buy them.

Meal Vouchers are offered to certain individuals and groups visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, often in the context of a Group Activity or special event.

They are not generally available for sale outside of select Group packages. In those instances, the Group leader will receive information on ordering and the like

yep, the voucher system is only for group packages. If you want Disney pre-paid dining, you'll have to book a room & tickets package through Disney & pay for a dining plan.

If you have Annual passes, or DVC, you can usually get dining plan without having to buy your tickets with your room.

If you want prepaid meals, but do not want a Disney dining plan, what a lot of people do is buy Disney gift cards & use those to pay for their meals while there. This way they've paid in advance but still have total flexibility where & when to use the gift card. And any leftovers on the card you can use for souvenirs.

We used the vouchers several years ago but sales to the public were discontinued, right around the time the dining plan started, I think.
