I went to Hotwire and pulled up the Meal Vouchers. It said they not available at the moment. So I emailed Hotwire to see if this was temporary or if a change was being made. I just got an email from them saying "they have been discontinued and will no longer be available." Is this only Hotwire or have the Meal Vouchers been completely discontinued?

It looks as though they are gone forever. I am assuming it's because the new MYW dining plan. I liked the vouchers better!!!

It does seem that Disney is no longer offering the vouchers through it's vendors. My guess is it's also due to the new MYW dining package.

The only problem with that is DVC members can't purchase the MYW dining packages, right? I wish they would give us that option.

Correct as of right know, we can't. I was able to purchase the Disney Dining Experience card though as an AP holder. For us, it provides us much more flexibility and is a better value. We usually dine at the Signature restaurants while at WDW and having to use 2 sitdown options really devalues the meal plan for us, while the DDE card gives us 20% off at those restaurants. We also eat a lot of breakfasts and lunches in our room, so it just wouldn't work for us.

I was considering purchasing that, but wasn't sure. Maybe that is the better option.

I agre, I purchased the DDE also. I probably would not use the MYW plan, even if it was available to DVCers. The DDE fits our dining habits much better. We usually alternate betwee in-room breakfast and breakfast at Olivia's, and we usually have a full service meal in the parks in the afternoon, often at one of the Signature places for MYW. And we rarely order an appetizer, entree, beverage and dessert for each person...it's just too much food at one sitting. This way we can order what we want, and still save a little $$$.

It looked like we weren't eligible so much due to DVC as that we are AP holders. We also don't spend money on food in the configuration they require. The DDE will pay for itself in three PS meals for our party of four. We are definitely doing three trips this year(yeah, DVC).

Actually, anyone can buy it now. For non-AP holders it is $75, for AP holders the cost is $50.
