Meal plans?

I think it would benefit me in some ways. I have 4 children and when it comes to snacks I get a bit skimpy.

"COTTON CANDY!!!!! AGAIN!!!!!..............NO! A DOLE WHIP!!!!!!..................NO!, You had a big breakfast, why do you want a tigger tail?!?!?!?!?"

Maybe if I had vouchers it would be different.

Captain Hindsight- looks like you are new to the boards, insulting people is not how we operate here on the DIS.

Well, it's not how y'all operate over here on the Disneyland side. As for the WDW trip planning forums...as often as not, they just get nasty. It seems there is no topic that can't be turned into a holy war.

Coming over here is like a breath of fresh air. Everyone is so nice! And genuinely helpful! I've been wondering why the DL forums are so much friendlier. Must be all you happy, laid-back Californians.

Not to go off topic too far but I think it's because the DLR forums are smaller and thus the community "knows" (virtually) each other better. Over on the WDW boards there are just SO many people that you wouldn't recognize the regulars other than Robo or the moderators. But yes, the WDW forums can get pretty brutal. Sometimes, when I want to get a good read, I'll head over there and look at the locked forums!

This is one of those things you're going to get mixed opinions on. It depends on what your priorities are & what type of conveniences you want. If you have the money & don't want to deal with bringing with or preparing food in advance, then you'll probably like it. If you don't mind preparing food to bring & are on a budget, then it's not a good option.

We are doing DLR for the first time in a couple of months & will be bringing as much food as possible. I can't justify the cost of the meal plan, and I don't really care for how it works. I'd rather spend the money on other things, or save it. I can see the appeal, though!

I do agree that if your on a budget dont do it you can save money not go to all charcter meals an tell the kids two treats for the whole time there an it will be just fine.

I have had trips like that but this time im just wanting everything as nice as it can be..
To be honest ive been thinking about my dad alot.
He took me to dl he took me to Mexico(wont be going back there) but he took me to nice places before his death when i was 14

my son will be 9. Im trying to make sure if god forbid he ever has to go though what i went though that on these trips we do everything id want to do with him.

I am not sick. I will not be sick or get cancer but I still want to spludge an do this stuff with him.

For my family it works much better to have the food paid for. I do want to go to wdw an when we do i will get there food plan the bigger one because we will do charcter meals. we like them there nice relaxing, we get to eat have nice food an see the charcters we wanted to with out having to spend hours looking.

we dont go out to eat much at all at home. we buy food an make it at home more then offten now. so on vacation i will eat at BB an ariels an such places. an rainforest cafe *smiles* but ok back on topic

some hate it thats fine, some like the way it helps them plan.

I understanding your reasoning to that. For me, if I were sick and not going to be able to watch my kids grow up, one thing I'd want to do with them would be Disneyland. So I figure, do it anyway, create those memories now. And pray I'll be here to see my great-grandchildren anyway.
