Meal plan

Does anyone have any information about if and when vacation club members will be offered the Disney meal plan? Needless to say I was very disappointed when I was told the meal plan was not an option for vacation club members.

They may make some sort of announcement at the annual meetings, that is normally where we get our first "official" word about big perk changes. But they've ben awfully quiet about the dining plan lately. Personally, I have my doubts as to whether DVCers would get an identical plan at the same price as regular WDW package guests.

On the DVC member cruise in September, Jim Lewis, Head of DVC gave a talk where he answered questions and talked about DVC's future etc.

The very first topic was the availability of meal plans. He said that the project is underway and it is happening. He emphasized that it is not a matter of 'if' but a matter of 'when'.

Since this was a public pronouncement by the head of DVC, I would treat it as more than a rumor or a maybe at this point.

He also indicated that they hoped to announce the timeline at the annual meeting. So I would expect some more news shortly on this topic.
