Hello,

We are spending 4 nights at CB resort in May. This is our first trip to Universal Studios in 20 years! Would someone explain the meal plan to me? Is it only for use in parks? Is it like quick service idea? Cost? If someone could point me to the information I would greatly appreciate it! :)

UO has 2 different ones - one that is JUST for those staying on property that includes a sitdown meal (but the locations are limited) and ones that is QS - and there are two versions of that ones - one includes and extra drink and the other includes a CokeaCola Freestyle Cup that can be refilled as many times as you like in the park

It cannot be used at the resorts - just the parks and a limited $ of r4estuaruants in CityWalk

I was trying to figure it out too. So one QS has 2 drinks, so you could get things like butter Beer? And the other is with the Freestyle cup, and that would be the only drink allotment?
I was looking up the QS snack places, but on the menus most don’t indicate which snacks are allowed on QS Plan. Universal doesn’t make it easy to figure out.

From what they told me - if you get the plan with the freestyle mug, you do not get any additional drinks with yoru meals, there are freestyle machiens in the QS or near them to fill up

My favorite snack was Aunite Anne's Pretzels - we would grab a thing of the pretzel bites and pay OOP for a cheese to share and watch the parade

Quick Service one I personally think is a good deal @ 23.99. Soft drinks alone are typically $3-$4, which typically comes with a meal. Get one of the more expensive meals at Three Broomsticks and you're set, or even a meal at Mel's Diner, which with the combo includes a Milkshake which is a good deal. The minimum combo starts a little over $12, most of those combos are $15. You're allowed to get those. If anything you can always ask. Then you get an extra non-alcoholic drink, which can be soft drink, or could be anything, other than unfortunately the Harry Potter drinks, however something like Butterbeer can be counted as a snack (which is included as well) at $7.

So, if you get $15 combo at Mel's (which automatically comes with a milkshake), decide to select a coke at $4 with your meal, get a Butterbeer at $7, then decide to have another soda later at $4. That's $30, not including tax.

I really like the Bayliner Diner at CB, and usually eat a lot of my meals there. I don't drink soda, I use a refillable water bottle. The synopsis bchbetha posted seems to imply it is not a good deal unless you order expensive items. You would have to look at your own eating preferences I guess.
