Hi, I booked the meal plan(2 snacks, one meal) with a family of 4 kids(6-11) I don't know if this will be "enough" food.. I mean I know I will spend some money on food, I don't mind, but honestly, is this food plan filling?

1 table service, one quick service and one snack(I have no idea what a quick service is) :rotfl2:

It will be more than you may think. Table service is very filling. Counter service is, too. Remember that these meals come with a desert. My family rarely eats a desert at home but we enjoy the treats on the meal plan. The snacks are basically anything under $5. We used our snack credits mostly for breakfast for fruit cups and such. We are big eaters and still had snack credits left when we checked out.we ended up using them for snacks on the plane and at home.

Quick service is counter service (think "fast food" with better options) You get entree, drink and dessert. Table service also comes with dessert. It's a lot of food unless you are used to eating dessert with every meal.

Plan on spending money for breakfast unless you use your snack credits for breakfast (which doesn't get you much)

Quick service is a walk up place, like where you order food, get your food and seat yourself.

My wife and I split a counter for lunch. It's enough. Then a sit down for dinner you will be fine. You can also use snack criedit for a beagle in the morning if you just want something smaller. We will also use the remaining counter to split a breakfast.

Ohhh ok! Thanks! I had no idea. I guess that makes more sense then 2 snacks and one meal!!

You have the regular Disney Dining Plan. It will cover 2 meals per day. But if your family is used to more than a bagel or a fruit cup for breakfast, you'll need to pay out of pocket for that.

From another thread, I know that you will be in a family suite, which has a kitchenette. If you won't have a car, you could do a Garden Grocer order and have it delivered to your resort. Order breakfast items, snacks, bottled water, milk, etc and eat in the suite while you're getting ready in the morning.

We usually split some CS meals and that gives us okenty

Unless they have changed it doesn't it come with two snacks? I could be remembering wrong since it's been years since I've done dining plan. Anyway, I think you may find not only is it enough food it's more than enough. We used to use our snack credit for breakfast, you can get a bagel or a pastry or a yogurt with that and it was always plenty for us. Now days, we don't get the plan because it is just too much food. If you don't want to use your snack credit for breakfast but still want something but not a whole lot, consider a kids meal for breakfast. They have eggs, bacon and usually fruit and a drink. More than enough.

don't forget, kids are 3-9...anyone with an age that's double digits is an adult and gets adult meals

When we went with our 4 children we did gardengrocer and got some breakfast stuff, snacks, and a case of water delivered to our room to save money. QS meals are big, we would end up getting a few at 11 to split then the rest around 1-2 to split, then we did a sit down dinner. It was plenty

Like the PP said, be prepared to pay for 1 quick service meal/day if that's the size of breakfast you are used too. The QS meals are large and you could potentially split some leaving you with lots of snack options.

So with your family of 6, you'll get 6x(however many days are on your package) = that many table service, quick service and snacks. It's plenty!!'

Example, family of 6 and 7 night package

= 42 table service credits (6 will be used, per meal per person)
= 42 quick service credits
= 42 snacks

Puts it in perspective. ;)

Remember that the credits are based on nights stayed, not days. SO if you book 6 nights and 7 days, the number of credits is 36.

The only one that comes with 2 snacks is the DELUXE plan. OP has the REGULAR DDP, so only has one snack per night per person.

Say you are bringing your own food for breaky and need hot water, can you bring your own kettle to boil water?

We stopped getting the regular meal plan a few years ago because it was too much food! We would split meals for breakfast and lunch and then each get a table service dinner. However, we are not used to eating a heavy meal every single night and after a few days meal time became a chore rather than fun!

An alternative to ordering groceries in from Garden Grocer is to visit one of the gift shops in a Vacation Club resort. They sell several grocery items that although are more expensive than at home, are a much better value than buying them at the quick service restaurant. We usually buy an 8-pack of cereal, milk, donuts, bagels (a pack of 6), cream cheese, peanut butter, and a loaf of bread. This lasts our family of four for several days of breakfast. The gift shops at the Poly or Contemporary are easy to get to from the Monorail. Boardwalk and Beach Club are a short walk from EPCOT. (NOTE: These same items might be available on non DVC resorts as well?)
