How do you sign up? what do you get? a card? a receipt?

What restaurants are the best deals with the meal plan?

I called member services to add the plan to our reservations-I printed out a list of the restaurants from another website-allears, I believe, but I'm sure there is one on this board as well-as far as what's the best deal, I would check the menus and decide what you would like. There are certainly alot of choices!

If you are looking strictly for the best value from your meals on the plan, I believe the Mousesavers web site has a breakdown by restaurant. I know I saw one for the table service restaurants, but I don't know if they have one for the counter service places.

There is also a pdf file dining plan brochure on the Disney website.

Your room key will be imprinted with the meal plan info - you give it to the server to pay for your meals. For us the best deals are where we want to eat that we wouldn't normally go so I think it varies by each person's personal tastes. We will be doing the following in September - Coral Reef, Kona Cafe, Mama Melrose, Concourse Steakhouse, Chef Mickey, Olivias, Wolfgang Puck Cafe and some are doing Teppanyaki and some Crystal Palace for our TS meals. We plan to use CS credits at The Pepper Market, Tusker or Flame Tree, Cosmic Rays and are thinking about the rest. Since they have expanded the snack options I think we will probably use some of them for breakfast choices. I know that some people think there are other choices that are a "better value" but again it is what is the best for you and your family. We have never been ones for a lot of TS meals so I am a little worried about the amount of food we will be having. We also did not usually make advanced reservations but this time we have as we are going to be there when the "free dining" for regular resort guests is in effect. When we called over a month ago we had some problems getting the places and times we wanted but eventually got everything squared away. We did some research on the allears website and also the dining board here as well as the disney world one checking out menus before we decided to get the meal plan. We are doing it for two reasons. 1. to try places we wouldn't have before and not worry about what it costs since everything will be prepaid and 2. to not have to separate out check amounts or have to ask for a bunch of separate checks since we have the possibility of needing five checks for each meal if we did that.
